not for the lack of enterprise and endeavour today, just getting that round thing over the line!! and getting that defence more watertight

We really should have got something out of that game. Very frustrating. Plenty of positives though. I just think Baldwin is a complete liability. Ehmer (out injured) is a better player all day long.

Difference from Portsmouth game is we finally, for once, took our chances.
Just take your chances Rovers. Okay, slightly unfortunate hitting the woodwork 3 times, but 19 shots away from home and no goals.
If we'd have taken our chances today it's a different game - we wouldn't have been so open at the back for their goals.

A lot of fight from us. Players are obviously giving it 100%. We are going to bloody thump Wigan on Tuesday.

Same old same old.... we are utterly appalling in both boxes. Other teams are far more experienced and street wise. Tommy not appearing to be playing with any tactic today other than lump it long. Unless we wise up in both boxes fast we will go down. No idea where the club go and don’t think they have any idea / plan either.

Our passing was wayward 2nd half and they got heads to balls that our players just watched, defence switched off again. A lot of endeavour on show let down by poor finishing.

Looking forward to the post match interview and acknowledgement that we lack fire power at the top end. I wonder if Tommy can pull a rabbit out the hat?

Sounds like pretty much every match that Widdrington was delighted to stick the boot in to other people for...
Now, who is it that's responsible for recruiting a squad that can't defend and can't score?

I thought they gave their all for Tisdale in his last two games, it comes back to lack of quality something TW disputes. It’s either feast or famine though- everyone was in the faces of the Tommy knockers (sly Stephen King reference for you all there) on Tuesday and crowing about the recruitment, we lost narrowly today and now the recruitment was actually s**t along. I can’t keep up with it. The reality is that the portsmouth game doesn’t suddenly vindicate Widdrington and the recruitment (much as you could tell he thought it did after the whistle on Tuesday) but we’re creating chances and having a go and Day is actually a proper keeper all of a sudden. That’s a good basis to build from and we risk blowing it all away by appointing a third manager. Widdrington will have been checked by this result, his reputation is squarely on the line and I think he will come out swinging against Wigan and we will bounce back with a good win.

There is something depressingly satisfying about seeing someone so full of hubris falling on their sword...he can’t fall on it fully though because the club will fall on it with him! I just hope if we stay up we don’t use that as an excuse not to conduct a full, no stone unturned review of what the actual **** has gone on since GC left to create this shambles we find ourselves in.

We've had 5 years of slide under Wael, with loses that we couldn't have imagined before he got here. I have no idea what it's going to take for him to realise that he's doing it wrong, top to bottom.

It seems that, despite deciding at board level to go in a different direction, we went back to Coughlan ball today. Apart from the result that is as Coughlan was a winner. And who was good at Coughlan ball? That would be Coughlan. As you say, we need a full review on how a few charlatans can see off Coughlan then serve up a year of absolute dross before realising perhaps Coughlan knew what he was doing after all. And regarding the high of the Portsmouth game - I personally gave Widdrington no credit for the win at all but similarly I won’t judge him on today. But if he was self congratulatory on Tuesday he has to be equally as humble today

Post match interview today: “how does it feel to lose your 100% record Tommy?” “It just makes me more determined to win it back again next week Geoff”

Looking forward to the post match interview and acknowledgement that we lack fire power at the top end. I wonder if Tommy can pull a rabbit out the hat? I don't think that's not fair. I thought Daly/Hanlan/Ayunga were a real handful. We really should have gone in 1 if not 2 up after 45mins. Gills made 3 subs at HT just to try and change the shape of the game. We were still on top. Just one piece of idiotic defending and the slowest striker in League 1 walks through our flat footed defence. Baldwin had an absolute shocker. Partly responsible for the 1st goal. Gave away a stupid penalty. Fell over the ball and let it run out of play more than once. Mindless balls pumped up the middle. Managed to get himself booked where there was no danger whatsoever. Could have redeemed himself, but with a free header 5 yards out - couldn't hit the target. I'm beginning to think Jonny Burn isn't the worst CB we ever signed from Sunderland. This was not a bad performance.

I wonder if Tommy can pull a rabbit out the hat? “Are there enough goals in the strikers?” “One hundred per cent” So there you have it, Tommy himself thinks we don’t need another striker. Maybe that’s why Tisdale was thwarted in his efforts to bring one in?
