I think Swiss mentioned it.
In the scenario JL is fit and not carrying too many old 'war wounds' he could turn out to be a great signing for a couple of seasons.
Back in the day,it was of course normal for players from the top 2 divisions to end their careers in the 3rd and 4th tiers. We don't get much of that today at all.It can work out to be inspired.
A famous example could be Dave Mackay when he signed for Brian Clough at Derby County.
Edit.I ought to add Mackay went from top tier to second tier, not to 3rd or 4th,but he succeeded at Derby.

Having seen the EP headline, I would assume either Widds iwants him because he is going to manage until the end of the season or the new man, as yet unannounced has said he wants him.
There seems little sense in signing someone like him unless he is specifically required.

Well we know after Tuesday that our lack of fire power was all in Paul Tisdale’s head so we may as well fill our last squad place with another slow unfit central midfielder. That’s irony by the way

Actually this news is fantastic. This has provided the Rosetta Stone to understand everything that’s gone wrong at our club.
The owner and his minions are under the spell of agents.
Out comes the watch. You will be in the deepest sleep. But you will hear my voice and you will obey. You will sign this Beluga Whale. You will hand him the entire contents of your wage budget. And you will play him in every game.

Anything that is going to live it’s entire life looking so happy, enjoying fine violin sonatas, right up to the point it’s harpooned and butchered, how can you not love them? but if I owned a football club, would I sign one? Maybe, if it was sat there with big doleful eyes currently without a club, and the league would allow me to drape it in front the goal and call it a goalkeeper. But these days even goalies need to play a bit don’t they.

Nah, they're not really shaped the way of your average footballer; and besides, Beluga Whales are more into their rugby...

I mean good player in his day, played a blinder in the Euros, but a player of his stature wouldn’t be at Rovers (even at his age) unless he was desperate for a contract. Lest we forget how Charlton gave him the old Shepherd’s crook early on into his debut because he wasn’t good enough and we never saw him appear for them again. That should have made us very wary of offering a deal.
