Davies played a full 90 for Barrow tonight and Clarke-Harries scored two more.Feel a lot better now and if we'd played Swindon ,there is no doubt we would have beat them too.So pleased Ayunga was given another chance as he has quality.Different kettle of fish entirely to Tutonda who has little goalscoring potential. They are completely different types of fish?

that's not far off what one of the pundits said - not sure if it was Mans or not They weren’t actually trying too hard for Garner either. There's probably a section of Spurs fans who blame the players for the way the Stubborn One sets them up.

Better team without Ozthumer... Unbelievable talent but not what a struggling League 1 club needs... McCormick over 'Messi' everday for me

The volume from cheers for Rovers goals are worthy of a reasonable crowd. I wonder how many were there? Ayunga's 2nd... great technique and finish. I don't think I'm the only one who had just about given up on him after a promising pre-season... Very well played Widdrington's Rovers.

Biggest disappointment, not being there. Villain ref. Couple ex players. Blood and thunder performance . A come back. A missed penalty.
First game in ages was on edge of seat shouting stuff.

That was a great performance from everyone. FWIW: Ayunga MOM clearly with the two goals although after that second half McC and Nicholson ran him close. Those two never stopped running and hassling Pompeys defence. Harlan, Ayunga and Nicholson were ok up front and will work together better the more times they play together. Nicholson hassled all evening and was prepared to run at them and hassle them, not a combination you often see from a skilful ball-playing player. Baldwin and Alfie had a good night and lost only 1/2 headers in our box. Defence reminded me of times under GC when they all put themselves on the line and never stopped clearing, shouting and totally committed. Williams again a good game and probably the most composed player, apart from Leahy's penalty. Great pen keeping his nerve. Grant did well and helped keep Pompey out. Day did really well some great saves esp the penalty. Pompey were quite poor for all their possession. After they scored I don’t think they got to the by line again to pull it back. Kept on putting balls into the box which our defence, in this match, dealt with. Thought it showed how simple a game football can be. Everyone gave 100%, defence cleared their lines and defended, midfield tried to get the ball and pass it to the front 2/3 and on several occasions tonight when we attacked I counted 3 or 4 players in the box. It gave us chances and Ayunga got two shots off instead of taking an extra touch and he scored. TW got his message across and the players carried out the orders. I think the players had a point to prove tonight and they played like they did. I hope I’m still saying Tommy 100% Wid on Saturday night. Well done Tommy and the team. UTG!

Just to have a moan- because it wouldn't be Rovers if we didn't have at least one gripe- what on earth was Kilgour thinking of with their penalty and was I the only one who kept shouting 'Get out the f**king way ref' !

Especially the ref getting in the way. It led to a passage of play from which Portsmouth nearly scored. UTG!

It's quite sweet that our former Havent & Waterlooville striker bagged a brace against Pompey. They would of been aware of Johnah Ayunga at their 6th tier nieghbours.

Portsmouth are allowed to rock up tonight and win 6-0. We have no divine right to win just because we are at home, because their manager is ill, because we didn't play Saturday, because we get the sacked manager uplift, because TW knows and signed all the players so they will do better for him. The only thing to stop a 6-0 away win or even 1-0 is hard work, play for each other, play for your contracts, play for the next manager, do what you were bought to do, play your own game. Bob Paisley used to say they brought a player in to play how they saw them fitting into the team, that's it. Play simple, effective football. Earn the right to play, make Portsmouth hate playing against Rovers, make them suffer, give their fans a bad day, make their team feel embarrassed, don't just roll over because you don't think you have the right to.lace their boots. It's ok to win, it's ok to score, it's ok to foul, ok to shoot, ok to block and get the ball in your knackers, it's ok to try things in their half, be safe in ours. It's ok to hit row z from a clearance. It's ok to give your fans what they want. What's not ok is lack of heart, lack of effort, leaving the ball for people, slowing down just before they shoot, not stopping the shot, not stopping the cross, being 2nd best 100% of the time, not giving 100% (not the same thing). Conceding to set pieces at all. Conceding at all. But.... They are perfectly entitled to come to your ground and smash you 6-0, 12-0, I can't stop them, neither can TW, the only people who can is the 11 who start. The 11 who have earned the shirt and need to keep it because there are players who might want it more than you on the bench. No one is more important than the 11 who start tonight. Forget Tony Craig, forget Joey Barton, forget Paul effing Tisdale, forget Ben Garner, forget John Marquis. If 8 out of the 11 play to their 100% we will win tonight, no doubt about it. We cannot afford less than this however. Because we are allowed to win. Do we always want to be unlucky? You make your own luck. Earn it. UTG They listened then

The commentator kept saying Alfie to describe our centre back. Really annoying after the 30th time, he was on commission I reckon

The commentator kept saying Alfie to describe our centre back. Really annoying after the 30th time, he was on commission I reckon I have an inkling that was the so-called 'pundit', Lee Mansell. The 'main' commentator was appalling, and I have another idea there was a third contributor. Very confusing. The whole mess was drenched in a thick nauseous serving of sycophancy. And, for some reason that eludes me, you're supposed to know who the bleedin' hell they are. I hate this cosy in-crowd perceived by themselves to be particularly fashionable (prevalent from time-to-time) at Rovers. Bumptious nonsense. The very basic iFollow coverage for a tenner is cheap and cheerful, and it does the job if your a committed (I am) Gashead.

I believe the two lads commentating were from the Gascast podcast. As Ron says the pundit was club legend Manse. The Gascast podcast is a really good listen and all credit to the lads (and young lady or two) who produce it. I don't know them personally, but I feel like they are my mates, which is a testimony to the work they produce. I suspect that they are finding commentating on a game a different challenge however (sorry lads, but I don't know how else to put it) Anyway, they are a million times better than that crushing old boor Martin Tyler on Sky who just drones on and on and on and sucks any excitement out of the game. Why does he always get the big matches? I can't stand listening to him any more. Rant over.

You've set the bar very low there... even the world champion limbo dancer wouldn't get under that. UTG

Yes, fair play to the Gaschat boys. Not sure whether they have had any experience in commentating before (Hospital Radio commentary maybe?) - perhaps none at all. Doing well so far, and I'm sure they will improve over time - you have to start somewhere.
The thing I find strange is that Screen Soccer, a group of Rovers fans (who did a brilliant job over the years, by the way), got the boot from commentating and producing videos a couple of years back, because the club wanted their own team doing it, yet here we are with a group of Rovers fans doing the commentary again!
