We've had enough managers this season. And last, for that matter. It's rubbish. Widdrington's manager today. It's Widdrington's massive squad. It's Widdrington's responsibility. He's burned his predecessor in public, like a scumbag might. If we must go down, then we go down on his CV, and he can leave the club. If he keeps us up, then all is forgiven. We're not going to get a 'good' manager now, after the recent shambles and the Holloway piece. The best we'd get is someone happy for the easy buck of a 2½ year contract to be paid off in three months, as I hope Tisdale enjoys. We might get Psychopath B*****, but many of us will boycott his Rovers, which is a disaster. No more managers this season. It's all on Widdrington to prove his point now. Make your squad win, and keep us up. Or duck off.
Please name your 'somebody else'!

Paul Trollope or Anthony Pulis senior No particular objection to either, but there's more chance of it being offered to me than for Tony Pulis to be willing after reading his mate Holloway's copy.

exacly W has his chance to prove if his "dicoveries" are as good as he thinks and can make a team good enough to get out of the mire

They are all awful options, even “other” potentially. I’d rather not but for me, simply because of what the club has become I think Widdrington needs to step up and prove that the goals are in this team to succeed as he candidly said yesterday. Boom or bust for me: If he can get a tune out of them fair play. Keep him on and give him next season. If he tanks then he and his players should be asked to leave in no uncertain terms.

IF this pandemic continues one had to wonder if the club would be around, in its current incarnation

Just generally or something particular? Well, both. But I am most concerned at the Gaschat lust for Rovers to employ B*****, to be nasty, and to be hated. No thank you. City 1982 might be bigger, richer, and higher than us right now, but we're cooler, and more respectable. Can you put a 'meh' option up please? I can edit my post, but not the poll. I also think that an uninterested 'meh' can still be a vote to maintain the status quo or to vote 'somebody else'. After one day, twenty-seven of us give Widdrington or somebody else over 81%, against under 19% favouring the criminal bookies' favourite.

After one day, twenty-seven of us give Widdrington or somebody else over 81%, against under 19% favouring the criminal bookies' favourite. It’s an odd place in the sense that Cotterill is generally reviled for saying “rag ass Rovers” and yet B***** most are at the very least cool about if not enthusiastic about him being our manager. I’m not sure where I draw the line. I’d love B***** to really challenge the board and bring them out of their comfort zone of surrounding themselves with quiet personalities but is it worth hiring a character like B***** to achieve that? In all honesty I don’t like what the club has become as it stands with buck passers like Starnes and Widdrington using the media to absolve themselves of blame. It’s really unprofessional and ugly so B***** joining would be the logical final piece of the jigsaw in Wael’s mission to seemingly create a truly unlikeable club from top to bottom. Not only unlikeable in the personality sense but unlikeable in that they aren’t even successful to make up for how unlikeable they are. A truly mediocre board (apart from Gorringe) who think they are world class. B***** will fit hand in glove with them.

Looking through Frosty's analysis of the candidates this morning the only one who looks promising in a footballing sense, and who is available, is B*****. However, the last thing we want to do at a club whose relationship with the fan base has become fractured is then to split the one constant - the fanbase itself. I've therefore voted for Widdrington until the end of the season. With the staff we've got in place - Maher, Mesure, Mansell, Anthony, Hargreaves, we really should be able to pull together and make sure we survive this season. We can then bring in a new manager in the close season (and start looking for someone else to replace him in December.)
