I guess either they don’t have the balls to be able to front it up, they don’t have the professionalism to front up a decision they don’t agree with, or they’ve gone, to be replaced by someone for an ex comedian and a reality star. To be fair, it gets a bit embarrassing constantly saying this new guy is our top choice and going on about DNA Our next manager is going to be decided by how many likes each candidate’s photo gets on Facebook. And don’t forget to subscribe! Do you remember the clubs who’s fans voted on whether to sell Akinde to City?

Other than generic 'outstanding candidate' statement the club have said nothing and its piss poor. The club is trading off of B*****'s profile and hyping the s*** (almost literally) out of him on social media Out of sight, out of mind and hope for 3 points tonight and move on It doesnt matter if it was B***** and any assorted baggage or someone else. This was a massive appointment and everyone seems to have gone to ground with no comment on anything Do you not think that maybe those who work day to day at the club don't want to own this appointment? Actually that’s a good point. I can’t imagine Widdrington was involved in this because of B***** wanting to bring his DOF with him and of course Wael is out of the country. Wael should have been represented via zoom then. Surely someone has to stand up and say “yes, we hired him for these reasons and we understand fans are disappointed but...”

Yeah Ebbsfleet I think, the first club run completely by direct democracy to “investors” who put money in via a mobile app.

As I said yesterday there is a way to handle this with respect to everyone: the fans who wanted him, the fans who didn’t and his previous victims whose violence he inflicted now seems to be the selling point of the Bristol Rovers brand. It’s really really trashy for the club to be milking the reputation of a man whose famous for all the wrong reasons. And for those you who think it’s great have you forgotten the award Rovers won for the “stand up” campaign, the promotional video for which featured a young girl being helped up on to her stool on the terrace sending out a strong message that Rovers was a family club. This video was unanimously celebrated by fans as a big part of getting young families to watch the Gas. A short time later and all that has been thrown in the bin and forgotten in favour of yet another new direction the club is demanding that fans buy into. And the sheep lap it up. This club has been so many things to so many people since Wael has been here it doesn’t even know who it is anymore. Family club yesterday, pound shop Millwall today and something else tomorrow. There is no plan or leadership whatsoever. This was a massive appointment and everyone seems to have gone to ground with no comment on anything If JB and his associates would prefer their "project" to be managed at senior level by their own people and TW/MS can see they are being eased out then I suppose you can't blame them for being reluctant to make a statement now.

All I’ve seen is he’s turned up in a tracksuit and a statement from Wael anyone could have written. Has anyone seen Catch me if You Can with Leonardo Di Caprio? Maybe Starnes and Widdrington are still interviewing candidates and think they’re announcing Stephen Robinson on Friday?

The lack of a single interview or statement from Starnes or Widdrington is amazing.
To me it gives an indication that they have not supported the appointment(s) especially Starnes who has to try to balance the books. We are now paying more coaches than trainees where our future is supposed to lie if Wael wants to achieve his aims of a self sufficient football club.
I fear that division in the club, within the boardroom, coaching staff and fanbase could be the downfall of the club this season before even thinking of how crap the squad is.

I do wonder if Frosty has been asked to not ask. The propaganda is in full swing Frosty needs to grow a pair if that's the case. As @ gasandproud suggested (very credibly), the Bristol Post appears to deliver news that suits Wael Al-Qadi. As per your comment earlier. It's beginning to look very much like civil war in the Boardroom. Unless Starnes, Widdrington (and a lesser extent Gorringe) make an unequivocally positive statement about the recent managerial appointment. Eastenders and Corrie are struggling to fill the void in Covid times. Fair play to the Bristol Rovers soap opera for taking up the slack.

Eastenders and Corrie are struggling to fill the void in Covid times. Fair play to the Bristol Rovers soap opera for taking up the slack. As as I have been backing a clear out for quite a while I would be really surprised at Wael suddenly ushering them out the door in the summer and going full bore on B***** and whoever he wants as the officials at the club. In fact, it’s even more ridiculous than hanging on to Widdrington and Starnes. Is Wael really so seduced by the cult of celebrity that he would do this? Does he really think that Joey B***** is not only manager but someone you build the club around rather than doing what any normal professional business would do and research & head hunt/invite applications from quality candidates as part of an independent and uninfluenced process to get the best people in? With all due respect I was thinking the Willie McKay stuff was a bit too far out of left field for me, but if Wael does a 180 and gets rid of his two goons who used to be flavour of the month in favour of B***** calling the shots I will seriously start to wonder if the tail is wagging the dog. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Wael needs help.

Didn't he say in an interview that he'd watched the last few games?
I took it to be real time, rather than on catch up
If wael had a management bun in the oven, surely Widders and Starnes would have been facilitating it?
Maybe he just watched the 2 under Widders, as there was a League 1 club without a manager, just in case

I heard JB is mates with MD at Cheltenham, and MD was going to pop down to watch the Swindon game here for him.
