It might have been a good strategic move to get knocked out of two cups in four days.
Our home League fixture with Pompey has now been re-arranged from 29th December 2020 to 16th February 2021.
That means we now play Saturdays and Tuesdays every week in the League from now until the first free Tuesday on 16th March.

It’s a good point GasMacc. The whole competition seems a bit strange in the season we’re having. Last year’s final, Pompey v . I think it’s Salford but I’m not certain has no date yet and with the fixture congestion it might not get played at Wembley but go elsewhere, esp with no crowd likely. Last year’s sponsors Checkatrade must be mightily sore about the whole thing. They got publicity but not brilliant publicity and their final hasn’t even been played and has no certain date. Why on earth start another competition before finishing the last one? I expect it’s something to do with money. Anyway, we will have more than enough football to play with the fixture backlog there is and likely to get worse before it improves. UTG!

Presumably the clubs wouldn't have got the money from the premier league U21's if the competition hadn't been played.
The standard thing in cup competitions is to get as far as you can with a reserve side.
Tisdale was disappointed to lose, but saw what some of his reserve players are like
and didn't add to the fixture cogestion.

Good job we've got a big squad - oh hang on, most aren't up to it.
