Happy new year to all.
Strong rumour we have loaned former Newport County and current third choice Cardiff City goalkeeper Joe Day. Day was a transfer target for Rovers a few years ago but opted for Cardiff.

Good.I assume he's at least 3rd tier standard.
It could of been a costly error to say JVS is okay for a few games!
You are good enough, you play.
Not good enough, you don't play.
You win points that way and the FC progresses.

Passed the training ground just now. JVS practising shot stopping. No sign of any other keeper.

Do we want to loan in a keeper that hasn't had any time on the pitch? Surely the reason Jordi has been shaky is lack of minutes because of lack of friendlies. Jordi seems to be getting better.
Day is 3rd choice so doubt he's getting much action on the training ground when it comes to running scenarios and drills.
Don't think he'll do much better than Jordi. Hopefully, if we do get him in, PTII will give Jordi the opportunity to lose his place.

Sensible Tis.
Signs an experienced GK as cover for Anssi.
Vital position, so no point in taking chances with a keeper who does one good thing, followed by a mistake.
Old enough to remember Mervyn, Graham and Robin Day.

Will it be he saves the day or will Day make some saves?

Mervyn aged 19 was the youngest ever goalkeeper to appear in an FA Cup Final, that 1975 win v Fulham, he was a hero of mine at the time.
