3-1 Westbrooke free kick his first goal for the GAS Wembley surely? Wembley, behind closed doors, our first team playing a Premier League B Team, in a discredited competition we no longer care about. Wow, Degg.

Enjoyable friendly - Rovers edged it created several good oppotunities scored four Hanlan and NIc's both outstanding. Defensively still flakey needs work. The keeper who was shambolic saturday started to look the part 20 minutes into the second half and with the scores level he paved the way for our winning goal.
Roll on saturday when we have a proper match against the imbred's Convincing win please Gas!

Morecambe beat Man U 4-0!!!! Don't know what to make of these games but a win and 4 goals outweighs the negatives.Imagine scoring 4.We didn't do that under BG ever.

Not sure how much to read into it but during one stoppage when most of the players had gathered for a drink Coles, Widdrington and Maher were giving them instructions whilst Mesure was sat alone on the bench staring off into the distance.

Also noticed this and thought it was weird. For an Assistant Manager or whatever his role is now he just looked completely disinterested and unmotivated. Would be surprised if he is still here beyond this season.

Jakkiola was only 50 miles away warming a welsh bench, could he not have done both games? Mark Hughes did once.

Wouldn't have thought he wanted to stay and by the sounds of it he was an outsider last night. It must be down to affording his pay off, got to say he has been invisible since he joined the club. I bet he wished he could have got on the Chelsea bus last night and gone back to his old job.

Wow - it's been renamed "The Papa John's Trophy". Jeeesus wept. Sadly with a 6pm ko this now clashes with Game of Shows with Richard Osman and also Bob Ross Joy of Painting at 7:30pm on BBC4. So at a very very tempting £10 (which represents phenomenal value) to watch a weakened, managerless Rovers side play some premiersh*t chelski U21's B team in a meaningless and loathed minor cup competition... On balance, I'll probably give it miss. Here's hoping Bob Ross has the racoon or squirrel on show. UTG. No racoon or squirrel. But Bob Ross did show us a robin he had rescued, nurtured, and released back to nature. Thankfully it flew, and did not go bob bob bobbing a long. It was also, not shot.

A tenner doesn't buy much these days and I quite enjoyed watching it last night. All the usual frustrations and nerve shredding there, even if it was a dubious cup competition.
