No good throwing names in, first agree the profile. Let's stay with good football, developing players etc.
Do we need a DOF to ensure we make appointments to follow the strategy?
What about coaches now?

What about coaches now? Yes,okay that's a good point. I would say because of the players we have and I assume Waels master plan remains the same,we need a passing style Manager, but one with commonsense and not complicated. Steve Cotterill,Lee Johnson.Options, not necessarily choice An international Wael met at a World Cup game? As for a DOF,I would'nt mind hiring one just to hire the new manager because Wael and his board hired Ben Garner!

Personally, Ben Garner *might* have been the answer with an experienced Director Of Football. Like the Lennie Lawrence / Paul Trollope model.

It’s more a question of who’s prepared to take this poisoned chalice on. Coughlan was waved off, Garner has faced a storm of spite not seen since Buckle. Darrell came in on the back of the slaughtering of John Ward. The way Ben has been treated will not go down well in the tight knit football community considering we are a bog standard lower leagues outfit with delusions of grandeur.

With respect for your opinion I cant believe you think BG got a rough deal from the fans, apart from Lincoln away what other games from the 20 plus inspired you to think this team is going places?.

Somebody who's, young, hungry, hard working, loyal, experienced the indigmony of relegation and the highs of promotions and would give his heart and soul currently wasting away in Poland................,,,.,

The more interesting question than who we get is what strategy will they be taking?
The question is whether the situation is 'right approach - wrong guy' or 'wrong approach'. I'm guessing Wael will remain committed to our new approach which will mean a certain type of manager.
Maybe someone like Tisdale would be a decent middle way.

Let's just see if Widders can produce a bit of GC alchemy. You never know?
I would have invested in Nigel Clough before the transfer window, we could have been set up with a credible manager and excellent youth outlook for years.....so it has to be someone experienced in this division, with hopefully a promotion or two on cv.

Nigel Clough would of been a good choice, agreed he's a very good manager o2o2bo2ba.Thing is I'm pretty sure he does'nt work down South. In the scenario Bristol was in Nottinghamshire,we might of had a chance.

Our model is now set, get value out of players(simplistically). Not a unique model other clubs are going this route. One of the things to enable this is to get the team playing in a progressive style. That comes from DOF and Manager. Improvements in players come from coaching. Look at how many forwards Penny improved.
Garner and assistant guy came in to do both jobs, failing. Ted's bought in very good coaches under a new manager. Working on pitch at moment looking at results.
For me not as simple as a manager with results on cv.
Things may have been better with a DOF appointment last time alongside Garner. As someone else said Trollope, great coach but never made it as a stand alone manager.

This could prove to be the hardest manager hunt we have had. Maybe there is someone who says good squad, couple of tweaks and I can get them going.
