I find him odd to watch, he looks like he has slow feet and little pace, but its the complete opposite. He has great close control and manages to drift around around people whilst still managing to look slow. But hes not going to score a lot of goals, none from open play so far and 2 good headed chances yesterday and both missed the target. Of course he can improve, but i cant see us putting in any sort of promo challenge without an experienced striker. Hanlan and Daly also seem to be miles apart, I always thought strikers played in pairs but they seem to be doing the opposite to each other, to such am extreme that they end up 30 yards apart.

Good point on aesthetics on Hanlan's play as opposed to his effectiveness. Similar with Devon White, where he looked gangly, awkward and dysfunctional, yet proved to play an important role and effective striker and strike partner.
I'm surprised we as a fanbase weren't more aware of Hanlan before he arrived?
It's an impressive start from Hanlan for me, very encouraging, but there definitely has to be a strike partner played with him because it's no coincidence our uprise in form and results have been when we started two strikers, not necessarily reprising the classic link up play, but they are both offer very different threats.....I just hope he can score many goals from open play too.

Yesterday was the first time I'd 'seen' all ninety minutes this season. The ability and threat of Hanlan caught my eye. But then I'm always happy to watch young fellows in blue and white quarters creating their own chances (e.g. the give and go before he fluffed the header shot) and running the ball over the eighteen yard line. I'm much happier him doing that to opposition defenders than I would be if he was on the opposing team. I thought he looked cracking.

Hanlahanlahan reminds me of Jason Roberts when he first arrived at the Mem. You could see there was a really good player if the bad habits were removed from the game and a sharpness of finishing was added which was fortunately the case. I think he'll do well playing with Oztumer or someone who can put the ball through or over the top (and not in a Craig Hinton fashion).

Penny and Olly had him for after class to focus on his, focus. I think Hanlon only has to turn his decision making up a notch and he could be very good, because his ability to go round people is hard to teach. Having jinked round four it’s probably the sneaky shot or pass before jinking round the fifth.

I'm wondering what I might have achieved if I could only have turned my decision making up a notch.

Been impressed from what I've seen so far. Modern target man who can play a bit with the ball at his feet. Seems prepared to take a proper battering as well. In every game I've seen him play so far he's thrown himself around for 90 minutes. Effective at both ends of the pitch.
