yes, with his goals, his 'Lion King' attitude, and 'just got off a horse' walk, he was never dull viewing I think it's linked to his popularity though - his strutting gave the impression that he thought it was our privilege to watch him, maybe more than his privilege to play for us I would say he had presence and knew it.Whilst swaggering about,he remained very alert to what was going on on the field.

one I thoroughly enjoyed watching. yes, with his goals, his 'Lion King' attitude, and 'just got off a horse' walk, he was never dull viewingFor a year - yes, agreed. After GC left, he looked a different player and was indeed dull viewing IMHO. I know we were sh*t all over the pitch, but his demeanour was just awful. I think it's a good bit of business at the right time. Good luck JCH. His goals kept us up in 2019-20 season.

The guy more or less kept us up single handedly the season before last. Last year he had a very disjointed with injuries that have dogged him his whole career returning. To get that return for a guy with his injury record is a decent outcome for us I think. I don't think he was particularly suited for the more up tempo style of play Garner seems to want to impose. As ever someone/some people will have to score the goals though or the 'project' could be in jeopary quite quickly.

I think we exactly do need a proven goalscorer in or we won't have learned the Lambo lesson.. We have literally emancipated ourselves from last season's goalscorering strikers, and swapped for players with no league goal experience at this level and this is worrying. It doesn't bode well future unless we strike lucky and someone unknown steps up, but the risk is great.. Emancipated is a good word

I thought JCH was the most fun player we've had to watch for many years. Even when he wasnt playing well he was usually up to something off the ball and defenders were often visibly bothered by his presence. And he had the talent to back it up too.
Best of his type since Peter Beadle, in my opinion, and probably better. I'll miss him.

I think JCH was brilliant for us, until he wasn't, when he was sold for serious cash. Very happy with the signing. Good to hear from everybody's favourite sarcastic Latvian again, too.

I feel this is a good summary but we had tried to give him improved contracts on 3 occasions but he would not sign. If we had not got his signature by Oct 16 he could have signed precontract terms and left for nothing so it’s not like we had any choice. We offered him terms that made him the best paid rovers players, ever. Yes, he scored but he does have that awkward gait and injury prone too. I’m not going to be critical as we seem to have done ok. I take your point on a replacement though but this is Rovers we are talking about. As always, hoping for the best but prepared for worse UTG

Jonson swaggered around the field ,a touch of gunslinger about him.I remember a Gashead who went back abit shout out ,'you know who he's like,Alan Warboys'! His left foot is dynamite. I saw him as a brute of a player but one with a sound understanding of the game especially his own job. I wonder how far he can go? We've seen eg Bobby Zamora and Rickie Lambert make the top division and England Caps. Maybe a chat with those two would be a good idea for Jonson. A great player for Rovers ,one I thoroughly enjoyed watching. Not sure if me but I wrote that he reminded me of Warboys, awkward and kind of off balance.

I don't honestly think he was ever considered part of Ben's project, though you couldn't ignore the impact he could have had. We will see who comes in and what kind of player they are, would surprise me if they are in the same mould as JCH.

He was a presence though, scored goals and was a physical handful to mark. Don't hold your breath about a replacement coming in, we are over the squad limit now with players, Ogogo and Bennett haven't found new clubs, they will have to be paid off.

I would of thought Abu would get a few offers.Wages?

I liked how JCH was very different to so many other strikers we have signed in the recent past, That whole scoring goals thing did it for me.

Posh's manager reckons JCH is a bit unfit: "Jonno got another 90, he clearly needs fitness, he doesn't fit the fitness levels we require," said Ferguson after the match. "So we're going to have to work with him closely in terms of getting him stripped down a bit."

I know you can't live in the past, but the 2 players that we had who could make things happen, Sercombe and JCH, both gone.
The player who broke up opposition attacks, and scored a few, Ollie Clarke, gone.
Sure hope Garner doesn't get a virus on his laptop or we are in big trouble.

Sercombe barely played last year and when he did, didn't really create much. Westbrooke is much better IMO. Ollie Clarke found his level IMO, often struggled and his passing was wayward. Joel Grant is a vast improvement. JCH - well if he was as unfit as the media and DF suggest it was only a matter of time before he was back on the table. That said he's a huge presence gone and not sure if Ayunga is the man, but we could all be in for a shock!
