Thanks JCH for your goals and the hope you gave us, good player more Peter Beadle than Marcus Stewart, Hayles, or Rickie L. It’s a shame he didn’t sign the contract on offer but given that he didn’t, to sell him now for a sizeable fee seems the best thing to do from the situation. It’s never the best to have a player who doesn’t want to be here, best to sell for a fee and move on. But he is an enormous gap to fill, he saved us from relegation and despite what people have said about his injury record he has played most of the games. He often looked as if he was carrying an injury and he wasn’t the best at covering up his attitude when things weren’t going well. Perhaps that’s just JCH. At least with the extended window until October there’s time to get a replacement. UTG!

Moody, Sulky, Solid, Livewire, Talismatic, Dangerous, Skillful, Leader, Tattooed, Menacing looks the part - when football is done with he could try his hand as a hard man and be the next Vinnie Jones.
Good job JCH - Thanks for all your goals and the million and half Bucks which i trust the club will spend wiisely.

Apparently we've bid £600,000 for MK Don's striker Rhys Healy.
I will be delighted if we can get him.Looks a perfect replacement for JCH.
I don't know what RHs injury record is,but with abit of luck he's a 40 plus games a season. I'll keep an eye on Johnsons appearance record at Posh.I reckon 30-ish a season.
In the scenario Rhys Healy signs,it could represent some bloody good business by Rovers.🤞

Things are aligning to announce Messi My recent bout of pancreatitis was funnier than people doing the Messi announcement.

Rhys Healy of MK Don's looks a good striker and would fit nicely in. 2 footed, brave, excellent header ,can pass ,looks like he has presense, helps out in defence, target man. he’s not 6 foot. Doesn’t have pace. Does have a crocked knee. Nah. We don’t want him. I hear we've bid £600,000. Worrying about his "knee". 11 goals in 18 appearances for MK last time, according to Wiki.Perhaps needs checking. Edit 5 ft 11.

Think we be ok with the signings we have already made. I think the goals will be spread around. Crash helmet on.

Are we expecting a replacement? On Rovers web-site, Martyn Starnes says "This should also be regarded as an opportunity for other players to come into the team to develop their own careers.......". Not "into the club" but "into the team". I think our new number nine will be someone already at the club. Jonah Ayunga, Harry Warwick, James Daly and Kieran Phillips perhaps will step up but maybe midfielders will contribute some goals.

I'm pretty sanguine about this. A very positive transfer window overall thus far...

JCH had a fantastic first year... then under Garnerball he looked disinterested, short of pace, angry and was beginning to look more like Stefan Payne. So £1.25mil in the bank and a lot of options up front. Chance for James Daly to take the No.9 shirt and be backed up with JML and Nicholson? I wouldn't be that bothered about not getting someone else in.

I think we exactly do need a proven goalscorer in or we won't have learned the Lambo lesson..
We have literally emancipated ourselves from last season's goalscorering strikers, and swapped for players with no league goal experience at this level and this is worrying.
It doesn't bode well future unless we strike lucky and someone unknown steps up, but the risk is great..

Rhys Healy has signed for Toulouse.
Apparently they take the field to thunderous applause and "Baby I Was Born,To Lose".

Im expecting big things from Daly, but he needs an experienced Foyle.

He was outstanding for us,very powerful, quick for a big man and a fantastic goal record. I wish him all the best and hope that at least one of our new signings will be as good as him for rovers.

He was outstanding for us,very powerful, quick for a big man and a fantastic goal record. I wish him all the best and hope that at least one of our new signings will be as good as him for rovers. His immediate and then consistent form was a surprise to many, especially his previous managers. Coughlan deserves a massive amount of credit for playing him the way he did, which suited the player and took huge pressure off the rest of the team because of the way the tactics were set. The others could do their jobs, without having to worry about getting forward too quickly as he worried defenders so much. That's the job of a striker, to cause the defence problems. However that's defined is a long list of ways and JCH did it as did Taylor before him and not Nichols or Reilly, there's a stark difference which is why 2 of them left for nothing and the other has been sold for a fee. He has definitely been sold the Pboro project under Ferguson and likely much better money than we could offer, but I do have a feeling however his career goes he will always be grateful to GC and Rovers for making him a household name in L1. I was therefore surprised he didn't go to the Championship. Thanks for the goals JCH, good luck. Without you we would be in L2 without a doubt.

Jonson swaggered around the field ,a touch of gunslinger about him.I remember a Gashead who went back abit shout out ,'you know who he's like,Alan Warboys'! His left foot is dynamite. I saw him as a brute of a player but one with a sound understanding of the game especially his own job.
I wonder how far he can go?
We've seen eg Bobby Zamora and Rickie Lambert make the top division and England Caps.
Maybe a chat with those two would be a good idea for Jonson.
A great player for Rovers ,one I thoroughly enjoyed watching.

one I thoroughly enjoyed watching. yes, with his goals, his 'Lion King' attitude, and 'just got off a horse' walk, he was never dull viewing
