An article in the Post on Kyle today.
In a scenario where you could choose, would you release Kyle Bennett or persevere?
I think he's been an awful signing and I would release him as soon as possible.

The guy doesn’t seem to divide opinion, most seem universally against him so I have a bit of sympathy for him with so much hostility. But I think he’s under contract for another year or is it longer? If so we can’t just release him he will expect his contract to be paid up. In those circumstances it would cost us the value of his contract or any other contractual stuff that’s in it. If we can get him off the pay roll at not too great a cost that might be better for all concerned but I think he’s probably in the driving seat on this issue. He might come good if we keep him though that seems a bit of a stretch. UTG!

Abit cryptic. You mean if we had to pay some of his wages on a loan deal? Hopefully we would save enough to sign another player.

Yeh,Gasheads criticise expensive flops and sadly that's what he's been. One year left on his deal.My fault using the word "release",beg your pardon,I mean sell or loan him out.Best deal possible on either.

Abit cryptic. You mean if we had to pay some of his wages on a loan deal? Hopefully we would save enough to sign another player. Given the current market we may have to pay 75% of his wages if he goes on loan. To set free he will look for 100%. Can't see many wanting to take him. So with those figures there is an argument to keep him and see if we can get him to play well. Personally, would be great if we could offload but looking doubtful.

I suppose it'll be even harder to move him on in todays Cov19 effected market. Fingers crossed we find a 25% wage payer then and add the saved cash to signings.

Balanced view.
He looked good under DC but only in his first half season. Won a couple of games I seem to remember, looked a decent signing.
My Pompey mate said he was inconsistent but didn't know why they had got rid.
I liked the idea of what he COULD do but we never saw it after the summer. He seemed to be one of the hiders when the chips were down.
GC didn't fancy him and I probably get why, but our wage for him is not justified.
Cancel his contract, pay it up, in the long run we will be better off. I understand the resentment and am not very sympathetic toward the player. I read the article.
It's about giving BG the best possible chance of succeeding and Bennett being there will only stop someone else taking a squad place.
Get rid yesterday please.

Well if we could sell him I guess it would be a win-win situation. Get money and save on wages. But that’s unlikely to happen, I would have thought we’d accept an offer since last January and no ones come forward. Loan him out would be good depending on the deal but perhaps he’ll do better under Garner. It was never going to work with GC. Yes, I know I’m an optimist! 😀 UTG!

He was not remotely suited to the style we played under GC. There just wasn't a role for him in the team based on how we played. When he came on he looked lost. Should have found a way to get rid of him then and to be fair we nearly did. Can't imagine he's thrilled to still be here either. It's just about conceivable that if Garner play with more width and aims to knock it around a bit more with some players who can distribute well then Bennett might have some kind of role to play. Seems unlikely though. Always struck me as something of a luxury player really because I couldn't see how he could be effective unless you played in a style that was built to suit him only.

Having listened to his interview that the post quoted it does seem like he wants to try and force his way back into contention. Hopefully Ben can get the best out of him because realistically he'll be here for next season.

Think too slow for BG. Not just lack of pace, but he takes too many touches, too many attempts to beat a man.
