Grüezi Basel. White Hart Lane 1977. We were only down 3-0 at half time and I thought we had a chance. I was'nt there Rowdenhill, but remember pre game at school announcing "'I think Rovers have a chance at Spurs' Oh the stick!🙂

Well... I read the guardian, and wouldn't vote Labour after Iraq, but will never vote tory. I didn't have a beef. without re reading all the twitter stuff,i was basically saying that blm won't work as it draws colour lines. And that if it was "blm as well" ,or "blm also" it would have more unifying for certain sections of the non black community who may kick off. Actually I think the first post was ref the statue and police inaction which I thought would set a precedent for non police intervention in future gatherings. I thought it was plain obvious on both accounts and I believe my arguments have already been confirmed. Sorry, this is a footie forum not current affairs! It's okay, some of us are trying to sneak in a serious section under the radar Shhhhhhhh

I’m not on twitter so my opinion might be irrelevant, the only social media I do is this place and gaschat. I thought that twitter limited every message to 140 characters, if I’m wrong then I apologise. But if that is still correct then it must make stating a point of view or an opinion very difficult to do in such a brief way. The brevity of space would make forming an argument really difficult and would stop any kind of context, supportive arguments from being formed. It would be limited to soundbites and quips which would lead to misunderstanding and lack of clarity as to what positions are being stated. Very difficult, makes me glad I’m not on it! 🤔 UTG!

I think that's largely the problem with twitter, I cant construct an argument I'm happy with in 140 characters about a subject with so many strands. Quite easy to be precisely unpleasant in 140 characters though.

It's been 280 characters for a while, plus you can make a thread of your responses over multiple tweets. It's not very many though, infact I have just used about 95 and not really said anything at all, now 128. The problem with continuing with another tweet, and maybe another is that people react to the 1st. I've given up on it now for everything but the listeningparties, which have helped keep me sane.

Thanks Swedish for correcting me. Still not many and even if you use multiple tweets it still fragments the message I guess. UTG!

Ha, there we go. Just read that the BBC has told its staff to stop wearing blm badges as they have realised that its being organised, or hijacked, by anarchists. How come I knew this several weeks ago? Is it because of my x man type powers or because I looked at their gofund page? The BBC seems to be falling apart.

I feel sorry for well meaning people who were involved. The whole thing needs a revamp, some sort of declaration of objectives with structure. If anybody is on twitter, Ive been told that Mr littles dig at me is still there as his most recent post, thanks!

Spurs have become the first glorious Prem club to begin distancing themselves from BLM. "Not surprising" as a mate of mine said.

The allegations about BLM have been knocking around since day one, I would be amazed if anyone who keeps even half an eye on the news wouldn't have heard them.

I would be interested to have those exact accusations articulated and then evidenced.

I don't know about anarchists... though of course they would be drawn towards any anti-establishment movement currently in vogue. But the two co-founders of BLM (Patrisse Cullors and Alicia Garzaare) are self-proclaimed Marxists. Patrisse: “We actually do have an ideological frame. Myself and Alicia in particular, we’re trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on ideological theories.” Seems pretty clear. Doesn't appear to be 'fake news'.

That might be a reasonable place to start. Edit. That would be UK side of the pond.

Get rid of the police bla bla bla.....later on in interview say the police were the only ones saving two of their activists lives!

Whether we agree with their views or not I don't see what is so controversial with holding Marxist views? It's hardly new, is it.

As I posted earlier,Spurs are the first Prem team to take a step or two away from BLM. It's reported they will advise staff not to display support for BLM (badges eg I assume) and the players not to kneel down before a game.
