I knew that Accrington were one of the original 12 and did know at one point that they were only known as Accrington without the Stanley bit and it was a new club when Stanley was added. But until you mentioned it epping I’d probably forgotten before being reminded. As for BCFC1982, if they are the same club I look forward to reading in Bristol Live that they have paid all their creditors and that the companies and individuals who all went bankrupt are now receiving their due money in full. If I don’t then the current lot started life in 1982 and have a league history newer than Peterborough, Cambridge and Hereford. I suspect I know which one their accountants will choose and which one their fans will choose. They probably won’t be the same! UTG!

Given the actual amounts of money that were owed to individuals and companies by the behaviour of the original despicable bcfc... makes you wonder why steve landsdown just doesn't pay them off? Ah well, I guess we remain on the moral high ground. We've never behaved like that lot south of the river. And that makes us better. .

Rovers celebrate their Centenary as a league club in August elected to the newly formed third division South in 1920. We wore white shirts and navy shorts and were nicknamed the lilywhites.

I presume Mr Gorringe would be aware of this. Good marketing opportunity - maybe commemorative 3rd strip with the original colours? T-shirts / polo shirts with "100 - 38" emblazoned across them? Or "BRFC - Bristol's oldest professional football Club - by a margin of 62 years".

It’s where I get my Rovers roots from. My grandad was at the first ever home league match in 1920 against Newport County and he started to take me in the 60s. UTG!

It’s not though. We’ve only been a league club for 5 consecutive years.

It's still 61 years longer than the other lot.

The strap-line on the 2020-21 season-ticket promotion is "Football With Tradition", so I think he's already playing that card in a subtle (?) way. It's clearly aimed at differentiating us from another local enterprise that is not yet 40 years old.
