First of all I note that Knowall has liked your post, so since he is back perhaps he can once again answer my often repeated question....Just how many members does the presidents Club have in its' ranks and why should anyone now listen to them? I have followed your comments on the ownership of the club with some interest, I haven't always agreed with your point of view feeling that some of your gloomier predictions could apply to any other lower league club..... I try to go as much as I can on hard facts in forming my opinions. Your comments remind me of the terrible AGM last year when Gasincider and a prominent Presidents Club member sought to mount an attack on the Club President. Early in the meeting Gasincider sought to tell Wael what Hani thought, had and hadn't done with out a shred of evidence to back it up. He was, I felt, on very thin ice when telling one member of a family about the supposed views and actions of another member of that same family. You may be right in your theory but there are large holes in that in my opinion. If we accept what you are saying then I really don't understand why the SC should remain so silent and it could easily explain what happened saying that they believed they were doing the right thing. they haven't and if they truly thought they were representing the members of the Supporters Club and the interests of the wider fan base, they should have said so at the time. They didn't and we have the smokescreen of lawyers letters and the departure of not just their own director but the Football Club chairman. Many have supposed that Wael's seizing "full control" came about because of the sad death of his father. However if that is the case then one has to assume that Hani was still pulling the strings well into the new year and Masters was already in trouble before that. I think where this unravels is where the former director goes onto Radio Bristol and claims that he cannot think of a reason why he might have been suspended. Secondly it doesn't explain why the SC make a complaint about how the Football Club was being run if at the same time they were, as you suggest working with Hani Al-Qadi to sell it. Also I have seen no clear evidence that Hani "was the effective owner at the time" other than a clear whispering campaign conducted mostly in "the other place" which surfaced publicly at last year's AGM to discredit Wael Al-Qadi. It seems to me he has had the last laugh. I did come away from that meeting slightly troubled by what I had witnessed and expressed my doubts about the current regime for the first time since 2016 having been a bitter critic of the last Board. Regards John Malyckyj We both respect the senior SC people and senior PC people but, like you, I’ve publicly criticized the way they approached this issue because there was nothing to be gained by the unnecessarily inflammatory way they posted on the forums. And if they were going to confront Wael at an AGM common sense dictates that they should have prepared themselves well and remained calm and courteous. But don’t you think these actions, together with the way the SC handled the whole situation, are symptoms of incompetence rather than anything more sinister ? Because I believe, despite the perception caused by their communication failings, that the ITK’ers and the SC have been proved right in that the club was (is) in a perilous financial position, there was a buyer willing to take over the club and that buyer would have provided Rovers with a new stadium. I agree that it is best to base your opinions on hard facts and at Rovers these are often hard to come by but we do have one reliable source which is the audited accounts. To answer your point about whether Hani was the effective owner I would say because he, rather than Wael, gave the auditors a guarantee of continued financial support that it was Hani who held ultimate control. To supplement this we have the interview which Steve Hamer gave in which he said he was going to London the next day to meet Hani in order to get budgets approved. And even if you discount these points I think it makes sense that the elder brother and CEO of AJIB would be senior to Wael in family business matters. I believe Hani passed control to Wael in March and think it has been stated that an announcement was delayed till June because of the time it took for the EFL to approve Wael as the sole owner. The audited accounts have been the basis for my gloomy predictions and despite the recent huge improvement to the club balance sheet we have not been told of any changes affecting the P&L so that balance sheet is deteriorating with every day which passes. You say that other lower league clubs have the same problem which is true, and Wael has said the same thing, but is that a valid point ? When you were leading the SC if someone suggested you continue doing something in an inefficient way just because other clubs SC’s did it would you have agreed ? I don’t think you would have because , like me, you want Rovers to strive for real excellence not kid ourselves we are doing OK when we are clearly not. I don’t think either of us really care whether Wael or the SC/PC people have the last laugh because its Rovers and Rovers fans we want to see laughing Not sure there's any evidence the SC did confront Wael at the AGM, it seems Gasincider choose to confront him, I've no idea if he's an SC member or not, but there seems no suggestions he was acting on there behalf, even if KM who was present choose not to try and silence his attack on Wael. As far as the prospective purchaser if the rumours are correct then they have no real interest in Rovers and once the stadium is built intend offloading us to yet another company, TBH I'd sooner Wael, who clearly cares about Rovers, as owner, rather than some development co. who could decide after a year or two the stadium project is no longer viable and just put us into Admin, or if the stadium is built owners just looking to make a profit and sell us again. Do the SC/PC really have Rovers interests at heart if they are prepared to take that risk just so the FM stadium is built? Although if the rumours are true then the FM project is still being worked on, Wael must surely be confident something is happening if he's spending £m's on a new training ground?

Who knows what the future holds, but this evening it's looking a fair bit brighter in my eyes. And I know we should concentrate on ourselves, but I have to say 1-3 has added a little icing to my cake today We just need the duck to return now. Typical Rovers to rustle up rare good news only during my month away from the Guzzler. The way WAQ has apparently invested in ownership, control, and infrastructure since sadly receiving inheritance is magnificent. I do wonder about the breadth of competence and influence of the BRFC board, but the future is looking less unsustainable than for so long. I don't know how BRFC would survive the disastrous national public health and football circumstances without WAQ's 'capitalisation'. I'm grateful.

The fundamental question should be, "what is the future of any supporters club of Bristol Rovers?" I am speaking now for the first time in thirty years as a non-member of BRSC. I will rejoin at a later date, no-matter what happens. Recent events have shown us the danger of a Supporters Club who falls out with the parent club but doesn't have the political or emotional intelligence to understand what it was doing. I say that with a very heavy heart because I still have a deep respect for those who run it. I have to say that I cannot understand how those in executive positions haven't resigned, whether they know there is anyone to replace them or not. The place they have landed in means that they should simply step aside and see what happens. The simple fact is that Wael Al-Qadi now owns the Football Club. There is no doubt about it. Any would-be supporters organisation should be seeking to see what he would he would be seeking to achieve by having any sort of formal relationship. The Supporters Club Share Scheme is simply a busted flush and to my mind having a director (or two, as it should be) is now simply meaningless. Given that the Supporters Club registered it's view that the current ownership wasn't "fit and proper" to run Bristol Rovers I am very surprised that the President has offered the olive branch that he has. The Supporters Club has done nothing to reciprocate publicly, merely advertising a vacancy for a directorship. In my view any candidate putting themselves forward should very clearly state a vision for the future of supporters representation and yes, that may mean that it is not BRSC as it is currently constituted. Given the events of the last few months it would be certainly helpful if candidates can demonstrate that they can work with the current owner rather than against him because as we have seen that has spectacularly failed and put the Supporters Club in an impossible position. We can call for someone who is independent but it is no bloody use to anyone if they cannot work with the Football Club. The one thing above all else that anyone who puts themselves forwards is that they are honest if they think something is wrong and that they don't hide to protect their own position. Kind Regards John Malyckyj Totally understand where you are coming from but we know that any SC director will have absolutely no input. I would imagine you know BSS pretty well. He will tell you how he felt about it. This is not about him though but I really have no answers here. It will be a difficult thing to do and, I’d imagine, very frustrating. I don’t envy anyone who gets the * job * What I don't understand Jools is that you say BSS quit because his hands were tied and couldn't do anything and yet when KM left he listed his accomplishments far and wide and how in his opinion the club would be a far worse place without him... So either BSS was on a cruise and collect and letting Masters do the hard yards or he couldn't be bothered or he did his best and KM was continuing on his ego filled stampede. Either way, the best BSS actually achieved from memory that the supporters could see and use to improve any form of experience was a couple of flat screen telly's in the club bars. So what exactly did he do or what legacy did he actually leave behind?

in terms of comms with fans, I think we've only got to read JM's posts on here to see how one part of the job can be done very effectively

So what exactly did he do or what legacy did he actually leave behind? In my view the BRSC should endeavour to appoint to the Board someone with either business or football experience who could add value from a practical and constructive basis. The BRSC should be leading from the front and consulting members on a regular basis, putting the viewpoints of fans forward to the Board. The Board responses should then be fed back and that includes if the Board are ignoring the fans questions or requests. I know nothing of the meetings that the fans directors previously attended although at times we were drip fed info (usually negative) on the forum by the inner circle of Masters friends and supporters. The BRSC must be proactive and I feel that now TG is on the Board the latter have no excuse for not responding constructively even if it is to say 'no' but....

As you say, TV’s were the only thing he could get something done about & that wasn’t easy. He had an horrid time under NH and stayed, in the hope things would do a 180 with WAQ. Tweet him, he is on twitter and will give you his number. As for Masters, don’t know him, only seen him once so cannot answer.

Work on the Training Facility started, Wael Al-Qadi (effectively) took sole control of the Club, popped a cheque in the post to write off the £20.6mil BRFC owed Dwane Sports, the Board has 2 new members, and the Board improved communication via a professional and innovative Zoom virtual Fans Forum. Apart from that - no, not much.

so, if Wael is going to be negotiating the sale of a share of the club in the not-too-distant (to help fund the stadium), it seems to me that what he's selling is looking a lot more attractive than it did 2 months ago
good luck to him

No debt has been 'written off' apart from the interest, which Wael had already said was notional and would probably never be collected.
Previously the money was invested and secured against the stadium, now it's invested and a single person has control of the asset. Nothing has changed. As far as I'm aware we don't know yet how much was paid by Wael to gain control of the club, maybe he paid the total amount that others had invested, maybe more, maybe less?
It looks like there's some new investment into the training facility, but I've not seen plans for what's actually being built there, so it's difficult to comment on that.
More interesting would be, what's being done to put Rovers in a position where the accounts aren't showing - £3,000,000 PA.
