One interesting thing might be a change in PR tactics by the club
In the past this regime and previous have over-promised and under-delivered. The shocking change this time is that it is announced only as the diggers go in
Don't know if that's driven by a rethink inside the club (unlikely?) or maybe linked to the requirements of the stadium plan, or other?

I mean, yes these things need doing, but I doubt they are just rocking up and digging are they. The site has previous planning permissions including a clubhouse for which we did or wanted to make some changes to conditions I dont know what is achievable in any particular timescale. Perhaps though they have actually thought about these potential problems and you shouldnt worry yourself Yes, there is an existing planning permission for a building big enough for eight changing rooms, bar, kitchen, lounge area etc. We applied for the removal of a planning condition that prevented use of the pitches before 6pm on school days. South Glos agreed to remove the condition. Fantastic news from Wael and as per the above, it looks we have planning in place. "initial installation of first-team pitches and training area, gym, medical area, changing facilities, staff offices and communal areas being concluded this year."So if that all happens - excellent. No sniping from me. I'll believe it when I see it. 2 questions from me remain: 1. We were repeatedly told that the new Training Facility was contingent on delivery of a new stadium. So has Wael just changed his mind after 3 years of prolonged 'thought', or are we having a shiny new stadium which is just waiting to be unwrapped? I trust it is the former. 2. Money. IF it goes ahead as planned - where has the money come from? If it was 'always' there - then going ahead with the Training Facility should have started 3 years ago. Just throwing it out there... has Wael received inheritance and has decided to use it to improve infrastructure? Regardless - if this goes ahead as planned then it is unequivocally good news and the first sign of real tangible improvement to infrastructure.

Mmm... I am reminded of the news about the Family Stand and how I got myself excited about the piecemeal development of the Memorial Stadium. And we put up a tent on a terrace.

That was on the beautiful piece of land But did you choose your seat at Cheltenham? Did you relish the prospect of Rodney's swinging balls? Did the comfort of a watertight contract keep you warm of a winter evening? Something about Mangotsfield. And Severn side. And Lord knows what else....

I am hoping that Fruit Market business plan is still intact with its new owners and that the financial pressures due to the current economic situation has loosened the "rumoured" entrenched positions of the new FM owners and the shareholders of Dwayne Sports.

another possibility - Wael is hanging in there, with few strategic options, and this is an attempt to buy time by fronting up with some real money and action

Not hanging round!!!!!!!! Is that real ? Don’t mean to be sarcastic but that thing is mahoosive so I’d have thought it would have been reported in traffic updates and I’ve not seen any. I have updates set, daily.

I’m fairly sure it is a shopped photo.
