I was too young to remember this. Anyone whom was there, feel free to comment.
Some things I found interesting if you have a spare 45 mins to enjoy:
C*ty fans in away end as can see their scarves.
This was their promotion year, and they still couldn't beat us in league home or away.
Stuart Taylor might be a legend, but he has a mare....why wasn't that a penalty to them in first half?
Can't ever really remember hearing Alan Dicks speak. What a charming man. Him and Megs at the end were very gentlemanly, fair and honest. Always hate anything that came out of that part of the world, but begrudging respect and will we be doing the 'Johnson out' ritual like the 'Dicks out' Tote End ritual in early 80s?!
Enjoy..

This was my first ever visit to Ashton Gate ( I had always thought this was the 74/75 game though?) My dad, who wasn't really into football, took me and we went on Don's coaches from Staple Hill. When we got on the coach the driver made me take my scarf off (it was a mixed coach ) and me and dad sat in the Dolman, although for some reason his seat was nowhere near mine. I was sat next to a big, brassy , blonde woman who was bedecked in red and whit, hat, scarf, dress, rosette the lot. She gave me a filthy look when I cheered like mad when Brucie scored, and was right in my face when they equalised, which confused 10 or 11 year old me who had never really experienced aggression from a grown up before.

I was there, the crowd was 10,000 less than the season before which was a night match. Rovers used to get the whole open end then, not sure what it held 5000 ? Any city scarves in the open end had either been nicked from some poor unfortunate outside or were some awkward kid with his family. The pitch at AG used to get me,it was so high in the goal mouths,I wonder if you could see from one corner to the other. A point against a very very good city side went towards keeping Rovers up that season. Classic Rovers didn't really strengthen the squad after promotion just brought in (very good) youngsters and a few free transfers and maybe a low cost signing (was a fee paid for Wilf Smith ?) when you go up a division you should strengthen the squad. I could imagine red Roger celebrating when city (or Bristol as he called them) scored.
No way was that a penalty,Stuart and Cheeseley shoulder to shoulder, nowadays they go down if someone brushes against them,if it hadn't been for his injury some big club would have paid a lot of money for Cheeseley and he would have got loads of international caps.

2 classic line-ups, some 1970s tackles, and an all round performance from the flying pig
Reminded me why we no longer wear black shorts
Dicks' 'bugger that' on telly was a bit of a shocker though
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for posting o2

Got grounded for this game after my mother caught me paint spraying 'C*ty are Sh*it' on her best white bed sheet to use as a banner, gutted.

I was there aged 18 in the enclosure below the main stand with my big (and I mean big) brother who alas comes from the wrong side of the river, and my best mate, a Rovers fan. In fact I was virtually in line with the Warboys shot that Brucie tucked in - it was brilliant! I remember the goal as clear as day and I remember jumping up and down with my mate which caused some Rob Roy look-alike to turn around and threaten us - big brother stepped in of course. Sadly my scarf had disappeared by the end of the game - some sneak thief had it away without me knowing.

It was a decent point. City were promoted that season.
Must be the last time we were given the whole open end. I think that the sound mikes were put in front of the East End.
Pulis was given debut as 17 year old. Andrew Evans played and David W played left back.
Aitken played well. Eadie looked slimmer than I remembered him. Taylor showed why he never went any higher.
Malone's ponderous play on words - stale-mate / stale and then shade are annoying. He did use the phrase, "Bannister was not so much offside, but in a different parish" in this commentary.
Don Megson and Alan Dicks talking together after the game. Different era, but lovely to see, compared to today's approach.

Hang on, 'Taylor showed why he never went any higher' he didn't have a great game but he was up against one of the best centre forwards in the country, city were dominant in midfield and the defence was under pressure. However the reason that he never went any higher was that he turned down a transfer to first division city ! he also turned down a transfer to Chelsea I believe.

I was thinking about this match today and although the ground wasn't full AG held nearly 39,000 then, there is no way that another 20,000 could have got in there, I think the season before the crowd was given as 28,000 and it was as packed as any game that I was ever at.
Thanks for putting the match up O2. where did you find it ?
