I think you'll find the tune for Steve Elliot's song is 'La Donna e Mobile', as sung here by Pavarotti: And Steve was brilliant - should never have been released when he had at least two seasons left in him. As big a mistake as releasing Craig Disley ("walking in a Disley wonderland"). Trollope's downfall, preferring to keep Byron Anthony over Steve Elliott. Seemed crazy at the time but a much more laughable decision with hindsight, even more so when you consider SE subsequently said he would have taken a pay cut to stay at the Gas. Top bloke is Steve too, still lives in Downend and regularly frequents(ed) the Horseshoe. Wasn't it all part of Trolls' 'these players have got us halfway up L1, but won't get us any further' changes? the board backed him and brought in 'more skillful' players like Snowflake and Moon River Andy Williams, but they didn't really work out not a million miles from where we are now tho

Blimey I didn't realise Chasers was still going! I remember the old dive from the 1980s, but haven't been in there since then...... I wouldn’t dream of going to any nightclub now. I tired of them in my 30’s and then all the health stuff. It just isn’t me, now. I have some happy memories but also a few bad ones, especially when working the doors. Those knowlers could be downright murderous and we’d never let them in. It wad evident where they were from & how they push in,at queues. I don’t like to generalise but they were the most violent of all and really stuck together

I think in reality they picked Danny Coles over Steve Elliot mistakenly thinking they were the same sort of player with Coles as the younger more talented version. That was the mistake.

It will be great to do
