What was the tune to the Steve Elliott song- it's causing a family row! How could you forget it ? Got to admit, I’ve been on sites that are dedicated to football chants but all they post are the words and I have had to use YouTube to remember some but I’m talking tote end songs. My favourite, of the ones at the mem is Bodins on fire your defence is terrified. That was an ear worm song. The Rory Gaffney one was good too.

I actually had the tune, then convinced myself it wasn't right while my son was saying it was right. I know Celtic aren't everyones cup of tea, but I do like hearing all the different chants they come up with and nearly always to a different tune, I nearly always hear the songs sung about a year later in England.

I used to hear them but from people like Shirley, in the Polish club. I’ve been offered to go many times as people kind of expect me to be Celtic due to being RC but I’ve never had a second team. I do need to visit a good number ou there though, I wad hoping to go in May but that’s now not going to happen. Have you ever noticed the Polish clubs and other things ? Many Polish settled there as it’s where the Polish 1st armoured was formed. I HAVE to do it & as soon as I possibly can

I tend to stay in the centre and walk to the ground which takes you through the Gallowgate or 'Little Ireland' as some call it. Much as I love the walk to the ground, it's a pretty grim area, if the Polish had any sense they would have found a better place to put a club!

Yes it is one of those tunes that fans pick up on for chants, 'Seven Nation Army' seems to be the current go to tune for football songs and it drives me nuts!

As you say, normally a good selection of tunes up there.

I think you'll find the tune for Steve Elliot's song is 'La Donna e Mobile', as sung here by Pavarotti:
And Steve was brilliant - should never have been released when he had at least two seasons left in him. As big a mistake as releasing Craig Disley ("walking in a Disley wonderland").

As big a mistake as releasing Craig Disley ("walking in a Disley wonderland"). Trollope's downfall, preferring to keep Byron Anthony over Steve Elliott. Seemed crazy at the time but a much more laughable decision with hindsight, even more so when you consider SE subsequently said he would have taken a pay cut to stay at the Gas. Top bloke is Steve too, still lives in Downend and regularly frequents(ed) the Horseshoe.

Blimey I didn't realise Chasers was still going! I remember the old dive from the 1980s, but haven't been in there since then......
