Only one thing booked. Berlin for the Union / Paderborn game. Scheduled for May 2nd. Looks like it might be in a bit of jeopardy. Auspicious date. Some years, anyway TSOM is a very special date. Great fanzine as well...

Various visits to my place in Lanzarote and Cornwall for a week. Business trips go Switzerland, Spain, Qatar and Bahrain all cancelled too. I think you're missing the mood there ITB. Hoping not to be too harsh, I'm afraid it reminded me of knowall! Sorry old boy I didn’t mean any offence...perhaps I missed the context of the post.... Reminding you of Knowall is enough counsel for me to make a change 😂

I would have been in Lancut, Poland as my fathers representative and handing over his medals, his units insignia and military history, dispatches etc. It is very difficult as I feel I have not carried out my fathers last remaining wishes as I won’t be having kids now. The 11th Lubuska division took on the insignia and military history of the 1st Polish armoured division & had even paid for my flight & accommodation. Gutted doesn’t cover it Didn’t tick like because I don’t like it. Bad luck KP, I was just moaning because we lost a holiday which comes over as totally unimportant, which it is as I keep telling my wife. That sounds as if you’ve lost more and I can understand your sadness. I hope some kind of change of dates can be organised to enable you to do it. Keep safe. UTG! Thank you warehamgas as it really is something that is a heavy burden for me. I am not saying this to have people pity me but I have the 3 health problems, one of which is likely to see the end of me and so I was so relieved that I had managed to get this all sorted & then see it shot down. You guys know how proud I am of dad & I need to get this done, if only to have some peace of mind. The Lubuska division said they will get back to me when things change but it will be at least another year before they have such a Memorial Day. Take care mate

Cornwall, down near the Lizard for us, same week, as my partner is going to Argentina with a friend at Chrimbo. Can’t see either happening now. Still hopeful of a Butlins weekender next February for brothers’ 50th. You know, I used to frown upon those who would do Butlins. My only travel up until 19 years old, was to my mums family and on the farm in Poland. I always dreamed of travelling to the Caribbean so I made it reality just as soon as I had a good job and the money to do so. There is a place that many still don’t talk of and maybe because it looks like it’s part if St.Kitts, it called Nevis and if I had one wish then it would be that everyone was able to experience it. I call it my piece if heaven on Earth. Anyway, sorry for digressing but I was invited to a tote end do in Butlins & I had a fantastic time, it left me with some great memories & i’d certainly look forward to any similar experience. I think that when we have decent weather then Cornwall is one of the most beautiful places in our country & I love staying in places that are near or on Bodmin moor. I love the lack of light and being able to see the stars so clearly and also the lack of traffic when at night. I never sleep so well as I do when in Cornwall

Probably the Highlands and or/Ireland Both of those places have some incredibly breathtaking scenery. I once drove to Greenock and back , in the sane day, to pick up my huge cat, a Maine coon Male who is called Cosmo as his name but his pedigree name is Armorica Viking raider. That drive had me in brief periods of both confusion & hallucination. I truly didn’t understand how long it would take. Thank gid Cosmo was so incredibly well behaved and he got into my home & went straight to the litter tray. Maine coons are adorable but I will not be driving to Scotland and back, in one day, ever again !

Not sure quite how much fun it actually is to be reminded of holidays I'm now probably not going to be able to take!! We were planning to take a Campervan down the North Coast of Spain in September. After the cricket season of course. Also had kind of a holiday booked in July to spend time in Bristol around my sister's wedding. Now there's no cricket, no wedding and no holiday. Ah well......
There is an old saying thst goes something like plans are GOD’s best joke material. I do take your point but we must have something to look forward to eh Irish.

Munich for Octoberfest 🍻🍺🍻🍺 Did that on two occasions when I was living and working, mostly in eastern Germany. Brilliant experience and, contrary to everything I had heard & expected the people were extremely friendly and generous of spirit.

Costa Blanco at our house in Sunny Spain in June. Not going to happen but also booked flights for September and our fingers are crossed. I see all hotels in Costa blanca which includes Benidorm are mow closed to 21 March 2021 ! That is remarkable and will hit the Spanish tourist industry big time. Not that you’d care as they are , I quote from you “ bloody foreigners “

I truly feel a strong sense of duty in this case. Dad asked me to pass them onto kids, if I had any but I am now totally reluctant to have kids due to the strong possibility of heridary genetic passing on of disease plus I’m just too old for it. I do feel a strong need to get this sorted. I have followed dads wishes to a “T” but this is the final one. My ex really tried getting me to sell & had done a silly amount of research, that told me much of her. I just really need to somehow expedite this but I will not do anything by post. It HAS to be to hand & with a legal agreement in place. Dad begged me not to give anything to the Sikorski institute, in London as they have been involved in cases where the originals have been sold then replaced with replicas and the dispatches and verification cards have just been “lost” I don’t know how people can live with themselves if involved

Had to come home from Argentina 8 days early, missed out on Uruguay by doing that as well. Had a weekend in Oslo booked for May and trips to Budapest, Bucharest and Rome sorted for the Euros. I've got three weeks off over the Christmas period, so hopeful of a bit of sun around then and maybe Georgia and Armenia in November. We'll see.

Greenocks only up the road I often drive to Scotland and have done up and back in a day a few times, I do around 50,000 miles a year with work, so luckily it doesn't really bother me. I find the highlands very peaceful, so normally just rent a cottage for a week and just drive around to a few different places during the day and sit in the cottage of an evening drinking too much whisky.

I do mostly stay over for at least one night though (Glasgow is a great night out) I have been invited many times and I’ve decided to go, just as soon as this virus allows. The 1st Polish armoured division was formed in Scotland & tasked with protecting the coast while doing so. Many , who like my dad, could not return home, went back and settled there. Lots of Polish clubs, monuments and goid people. Not sure that I want to be guest of honour but I know dad would have liked me to give a patriotic but brief speech so I have written it but it takes 6 minutes and 40 seconds and I know peoples attention span goes to around 3:30 so am working on cutting back on the unnecessary stuff
