Bloody hell, glad I’m not going to be sharing a car with you in the not to distant future! We had to put up with your stories of your new boiler. It's payback time ! It’s a good boiler, I can give you the output levels if you want!

Big positive for Ben Garner, he's still in a job. The only people who have a worse record than garner are the current government who were easily beaten by germany, south korea, taiwan and new zealand on protecting citizens from coronavirus. Luckily for them the mainstream media continue to suck up to johnson and his cronies despite their gross mishandling of the crisis. Instead of the deserved manslaughter charge we will probably end up giving johnson a bloody knighthood! This governments performance during this crisis have made garner look like brian clough in comparison. But no need for concern because the post virus enquiry will take years and probably end up blaming the fire brigade. I wouldn’t normally post this, as I am left of centre but I don’t think it does any good to be apportioning blame right now & when we should all be trying to be united in this. There is so much anger & I do take your point but it’s not exactly helpful, given what is happening. There will be a reckoning but, personally speaking, blaming people is not going to help anyone

As someone whose partner is currently doing a 72 hour overnight shift in a care home that is currently functioning with 60% of its staff signed off for various vulnerability and 10% of its residents suspected of having the thing yet still hasn't received a single piece of PPE for its staff I'm all for a bit of real-time political accountability.......

Fair enough. Please don’t get me wrong as I feel strongly about it but I feel we literally have no choice but to deal the hand we have. Ultimately the country voted in a bunch that had never agreed with the NHS in principle & I bet many of them are clapping now. I always said that no one truly gets it until they need it. I am so very sorry that your partner is in harms way. I am very sure that there will be a time of reckoning here & also now that the ventilators story has been put out there. The lies are totally unacceptable. I really feel for you. I guess I have just read so much angry & ignorant content that I would like to see us try to unite, right now. Us arguing will not get those ventilators any quicker. I hope I haven’t angered you as that is totally the opposite of my intent.

This is the thing,we are now hoping that doctors, nurses and care home staff put themselves in even more danger simply because the government were caught with their pants down early on and are still behind the curve. Were not asking them to supply 500 harrier jump jets just PPE and widespread testing. Its not party political but its a bloody shambles.

Thing is, your original post came across as political. TINA - there is no alternative: That is where we are; so concentrating on the problems solves nothing. Suggest some solutions, Vertigo.

If this virus does finish our club off, which has to be a very really possibility, I can see one major benefit. I can continue with my - already far too intense- dislike of those over the river, enjoying every loss, laughing when they get so close but fail etc, without the annoying distraction of my own club continually f**king up both on & off the pitch. We could even have a 'non Bristol City' forum, it could be quite a happy place

I think New Zealnds has not even got a double figure population so I’d expect them to suffer much less but they have been proactive so good on them

Controlled the borders effectively and quarantined anyone coming into the country (if I remember correctly). And enforced social distancing. JeffNZ will have some first hand evidence... would be really interesting to have his take on it. Not finger pointing - but surely there are lessons to be learned.

No doubt of that but this particular *genie* is out of the bottle or lamp & we need to deal with it as best we can. I really do not listen to the news, since week 1 as it made me very anxious. I really need a dentist & could end up losing many more teeth due to not being able to have treatment. I have been self concious about my teeth as my family has history of gum disease. I have lost 4 due to just snapping off. I could get into it but it only makes me feel all of the toxic emotions. The long walks have been my medicine yet, if I listened to the letters, I shoukd not leave the house for a minimum of 12 weeks. I know there would be no return for me, if I did that. I’ve been doing things that I really shouldn’t as I can go into huge flare up but it’s my only way of coping. I think the media haven been awful about this but that’s another story. We need to feel united right now. I see it’s now the ethnics that are being singled out. I find it all quite sad

IMPORTANT INFIORMATION FOR VULNERABLE PEOPLE
The national food service are providing FREE pre prepared meals and will deliver to you. I got a call today telling me about this & will use it as I am not able to cook and always be safe. Long story. The telephone number is 01173 250450. PLESSE do not feel embarrassed if you have illness that prevents you from cooking meals. This is a totalky Fred service.
How can anyone complain when such schemes are now in place ? I have been getting by on mainly tinned foods and microwave meals anyway but it’s not been anything like balanced diet. I do take vitamins, minerals and protein supplements but this is a real godsend
I hope none of you need it but I thought I should share this as it’s vital to keep your body and mind functional
GOD bless you

The government here went hard and fast, closing borders and introducing a nationwide lockdown very early... within days of the first cases being identified.
As at today we had just two new cases and 19 deaths. Interestingly most of the deaths have been in or related to aged care facilities and not community based.
We are moving slowly out of lockdown and the economy, while severely impacted, is seeing an immediate improvement.
As a nation Kiwis are largely compliant (in a good way) and have adhered closely to government guidelines. There is still a long way to go before even NZ is out of the woods, although when I see the impact to other parts of the world I feel extremely grateful to live here.
I fear the UK has a long road ahead of it still but it is without doubt in a better place than the USA.
With three kids and three grand children in the UK I still have a vested interest in the wellbeing of the country so I truly hope for the sake of them, you guys and everyone else in the country some learnings can be made from the NZ expirence.

We are shafted here Jeff. Yesterday I had to travel across Bristol to deliver meds to an elderly relative. On the way there had to drive past The Downs, it was like a holiday weekend Sunday up there, joggers, even though it was raining one person had a BBQ going, families out wandering around, the interesting thing was that it was all younger people acting like selfish morons. You can tell by the background traffic noise in Bristol that more and more people are out and about. Far too many people here think that the world is here for their benefit, they know all of their rights but choose to ignore their responsibilities. It really isn't pleasant.

People in the park and traffic much more busy. These people are going to make this a living hell.
