I was going to post the same but it started 2008. God, how to make me feel old & irrelevant ffs And ended last 10 years But you did give a specific start date. I could have come up with many more, House MD with Hugh Laurie was the greatest and deadwood was the start of all of the high end cable programmes that saw film actors act in only for TV content. That was deemed too expensive, at a million per episode yet many of the newer ones were several millions per episode. Hugh Laurie was on a silly amount and was the highest paid actor of all & for many years plus each series/season, was 22 episodes long.

A film came out last year and Better Call Saul is still going strong.

For anyone who has not watched this, this has nothing to do with breaking bad & is totally devoted to the lawyer. It is slow moving but is decent enough in its own right. You don’t even get to see Gus until the final season. I have watched it all the way and am waiting on the final episode. Mike is there but also takes a long time to appear. Judge it on its on merit. It’s the story of a man who never gives up and then reinvents himself. I started to really enjoy it once I had reconciled to it being a programme that never sees Walter in it. irishrover I was unaware of any film other than the one about Jesse Pinkman, is this what you write of please ? Personally, I found it all hype and very disappointing in content. We will not being seeing Walt again. Like the Norwegian parrot, he is dead, dropped of his perch etc 😂👍🏻

I haven't seen the film. It's on my list though - disapointing to hear the bad review. I liked the first series of Better Call Saul but I didn't stick with it. My partner thinks its great though.
I think there are plans for another film in the works. Generally I agree they should have left it alone though. Such a high quality stuff. It's almost impossible to replicate again and, for once, I thought it was a show that ended well too. Can only damage it by overdoing things. A bit like on the other thread - they should have left Porridge alone.

You may enjoy it but I always saw the Jesse character as the bane of Walter’s life and who was tragic in any decision making. I won’t go further as I don’t want to spoil it but, again, there is not a mention of Walt. I found myself saying out loud, is that it ? My ex thought it was good but she’s my ex for a reason 👀😂

Life on Mars and the follow up Ashes To Ashes stand out as well as Gavin and Stacey for a sitcom.

Life on Mars and the follow up Ashes To Ashes stand out as well as Gavin and Stacey for a sitcom. Just found its way to Netflix. Love LOM, can take or leave ATA although the title is my favourite song of all time

Better Call Saul is a prequel. Not watched it. Yet...

Another TV series which is a must watch for anyone who hasn’t seen it is Line Of Duty. Incredibly well written and researched as well as for making a great story and for being a very true representation of Police detectives.
