Used to love going to Millmoor...old traditional stadiums are still the best You can still go to Millmoor. Unbelievably it's still there more or less untouched nearly 20 years after Rotherham officially moved out. They even still cut the grass because a lot of TV period shows and films use it for football scenes. Sadly it's shortly to vanish for good. That's the sort of thing National Trust should be buying! They play Sunday League there still.

Apparently they don't anymore unfortunately, I have a mate who is a big Millers fan who used to play there for a Sunday League team and he told me that they stopped that last year over some safety certificate/cost thing. Now it's just used for occasional filiming and sadly they have just confirmed a development deal so if anyone wants to see it get there while you still can!

I'd love it that if the day ever came along that we built a new stadium that it had 4 separate and unique stands...not a fan of the plastic generic type stadium that is pleasing on the eye but has no soul

On the whole professional English football grounds is a dead scene now. Apart from a few outliers, on the whole the 90 league grounds we have are utterly boring. The standardisation of football is dripping through all levels. If you want interesting grounds, head to Scotland.

I have a friend up there I'm thinking of visiting hopefully once all this is over.

Joint Winners Millmoor Rotherham The Den Millwall Thanks for your memories Yay - my selection joint 'won'. Quick question - how do you "tag" people in a message/thread. I've opened up a thread in "Lets's Talk Music" and would like to tag a few people... Cheers.

Absolutely, although the new grounds in Scotland are even worse than the new ones in England. Livingston, Clyde, Hamilton and particularly Dumbarton are woeful, the latter is even more annoying because of the wonderful setting it is in. However places like Albion Rovers, Ayr United Forfar and Greenock Morton are among my favourite grounds anywhere. Even Cowdenbeath, which is undeniably a mess of a place has a certain charm.

I have done Tannadice with Celtic and the following season headed off to Dens Park on my birthday. I stayed over in Preston estimating I would then only have a 4 hour drive. Weather was grim and there were floods everywhere in the lowlands with diversions in place, but I was in touch with my mate up there and the game was on. After seven hours of driving rather than the expected four ,I was about 30 miles short of our destination it seemed incredible that the game would still be on, but I checked with my mate and online and it was. With kick off rapidly approaching, as I drove past Dundee airport I had the phone call saying it was off. Definitely in my top ten of most annoying postponements ever!
