I think that was the 73 boxing day game we won 4-2..but guy in the deadly duo pic not in this one...we just need a team pic of Plymouth for 73/74 now (things we do to fill the time these days🤪) recall also that day it was very foggy and i think it was a fans charter flight from Plymouth was cancelled as you couldn't see nothing at Lulsgate crowd of 2400 plus or minus i think

If you click on it it comes up bigger. Are we concluding it's definitely Plymouth? Well it definitely could be... I think we need Delsy to tell us where he got the pic from. I'm going round in circles via google at the minute, trying to work this one out

I think that the other Rovers player in the Sunderland picture is Peter Aitken.

Having looked at the pic again and this time reading the caption underneath that says it's Stuart Taylor challenging Paul Mariner, I think it definitely is Paul Mariner

I will ask an Argyle mate of mine .

Edit.Just checked mystery photo, yep Paul Mariner in Argyle days, although his head is not at an angle in this one. There.😊

The Stuart Taylor photo is him and Paul Mariner. But the chap I thought was the one in the original pic is the bloke standing over to the left watching. (Third photo down in this article, for anyone who can't see the pic I posted - brfpa.org.uk/2019/10/10/a-tribute-to-stuart-taylor/)

Like I say, I'm hopeless on faces, but to me it looks more like Billy Rafferty (assuming the caption has the players the right way round here?) - www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sport/football/green-barmy-how-paul-mariner-828506Edit: Though apparently he didn't join Plymouth until March '74, where we were possibly thinking the original pic was from'73. Where's Delsy when you need him!

My janner mate thinks its colin Sullivan.. third from right bottom row..up to the attic tomorrow to dig out the 73 boxing day programme...life's rich tapestry!🤪

(With all the messing about I was doing trying to get the squad image to show, I forgot to say he's second from right, front row.)

Looking at that pic, with the lockdown, I reckon those haircuts could be all the rage again v-soon.
