It's the latest 'buzzword' which neatly sums up the very weird world we are currently living in. For many of us, its about 'life or death' and therefore it seems really surreal to be discussing the purchase of season tickets for sometime maybe! When family members and friends become statics of this vile people killer, it may well then focus minds as to what is really important at this moment in time!

Who even knows if there will be a club to go back to ? The football is going to be the least of priorities in trying to save lives and lockdown is going to be much longer than anyone expected. I guess the better off can afford to buy ST but others can’t and won’t & because none of us knows what is going to happen. Like with irenesfather if you are happy to spend & not be sure you will get anything from it then good for you, think yourself lucky I don't consider myself one of the better off. I have a state pension and a goodish private one. We live sensibly so we can afford to buy what we need when we need it and have holidays in this country. If I want to spend some of my spare cash on renewing my season ticket then that is my perogative.I don't consider myself lucky but sensible but on the other hand I am not envious of others in what they do or buy. Maybe I am in the minority, but that doesn't bother me one bit.Life is too short!!!! I agree but if you don’t think yourself lucky then I’d think that maybe you have been lucky enough to avoid illness of a serious nature. I think myself lucky each time I wake up but each to their own. I’m not envious of anyone, far from it. I just have never bought ST as I have never been one to go to every single game and it makes me feel tied to do so. I wouldn’t buy one right now as none of us know what will happen and Wael has previous of not doing what he says he will do.

My response was to the implied, whether I read it correctly or not, criticism to my renewing my season ticket. As I said it is my choice and was not in any way trying to influence others to follow.Everyone has to make their own decision on that matter, based on their own situation.I made mine on that criteria alone

In what way? I was responding to kp post. It wasn't directed at you brother. I find a season ticket thread bizarre though. Season tickets? For what season? I don't know when this season will restart. Loads of you must have season tickets for it. Next season? Is that 2020-1? Or 2021-2? None of us know. Stay in, don't get sick, be fortunate. Pay the bills somehow. I hope everything's alright and you're back safe at the match soon. Let's be patient.

Mine and my wife's STs were renewed last week. I paid on a credit card so if the very worst happens and Rovers go to the wall, I can claim back the cost of the STs. It is obvious that next season will start late, possibly in September and looks increasingly like this season will be declared null and void unless all the current measures do result in a dramatic drop in the number of infections, in which case most likely remaining games will be played behind closed doors. This means the club "owe" current ST holders for 4 home games and I would hope we would at the very least be given access to the ifollow system to watch any of these remaining home games.
Obviously, anyone who cannot work and is not receiving full pay will not be able to buy a ST yet and I expect the renewal deadline to be extended in the hope things start to look better.

I have been a ST holder for around 30 years ( I even bought one when I had use of a box for a year, just because I wanted to be an ST holder), but I changed jobs 3 years ago which meant a very large pay cut and now face a further , enforced, one from next month. Add the fact that the pensions I was about to cash out have pretty much been wiped out by the recent falls in the stock market, then buying a season ticket (which I normally end up giving away for 8 or 9 games) just isn't something I will consider at the moment. I still want to get one and if this awful situation changes I hope I will be able to and a renewal deadline extension would probably help with that. Mind you, if you offered me the chance to watch just one more game and know that all of my friends would be there to have a beer and a moan with, then I'd snatch your hand off.

That last paragraph is the one we all have to hang on to.we have to stay positive about the future ,its all we have left at present.

With all the uncertainty at the moment it’s likely that to be able to buy a ST means that you are likely to be one of the fortunate or lucky ones. Anyone with a family or financial responsibilities will be more concerned at feeding their families and keeping a roof over their heads rather than buying a football ticket at this time. Of course doing this is important for the club we love but in a long list of priorities it will come pretty low after many other things. For some it will be higher on the priority list....lucky for them. And in a way our owners are going to reap what they sowed. They’ve more or less given us the mushroom treatment over the past 3 years of feeding us BS and keeping us in the dark yet are going to depend upon us to take a leap of faith and get them out of a financial hole (which the fans probably will). Hard to have it both ways. Families have other concerns at the moment over STs and I hope people do buy them for the club’s sake but you can’t blame them for not esp when you don’t even know if there will be a “next season” or when it will happen. UTG!

That last paragraph is the one we all have to hang on to.we have to stay positive about the future ,its all we have left at present.Oh absolutely. Reading back my post, it does come across a bit doom & gloom, I didn't mean it to, I was just pointing out the problems I and many others will have when and if we can renew STs. I'm a pretty upbeat kind of bloke and without going into too much detail, my family have had way more than their fair share of tragic events & early deaths befall them, but that does tend to give you a 'ah f**k it, none of us are getting out alive anyway' attitude that, bizarrely, seems to cheer one up. Whatever happens with this virus, I can't help thinking to myself, it is going to be one hell of a day on the first game back!

I apologise if this caused you any offence as it really was not meant to. I just used you as an example but now realise I shouldn’t tag in these kind of threads
