The bottom line is one month on we know that we will be playing non league football next season. We know nothing about what each of the Bods said to themselves when holding an internal review. We have signed not one player. We have no idea when or if the UWE is going ahead. Finally we all know we have been taken for an almighty p*** take of a ride and unless there is a split within the board or a takeover (both unlikely) nothing is going to change soon. Nothing like a bit of positivity amongst the doom and gloom eh....

The only thing keeping me going is that it is cheaper to drown my sorrows over here in Brittany and by god I am having a good go.

I think BSS said that Nick and Darrell will be there. I am a bit confused though - shouldn't the purpose of an EGM, which is limited to 2 hours, be for the SC members to discuss and agree their stance on the club's current plight? Then to agree how to challenge/support the BoD to begin addressing the problems that led to us being where we are? yes it should, a point that can be brought up in the EGM. Why have the SC called the EGM and what are they hoping it will achieve etc, etc?
I am sure the SC is hoping much like the club, that The chair and/or manager being there will deflect away from the SC and there will be little hassle so they can carry on as you were
Once again Bath Gas you are exactly correct in your comment. The SC should be using the EGM to establish the members position without anyone from the Club being there in order that they can then go to the Club with their members thoughts foremost in their mind.

To be fair I have no issues with these articles given that Stephen Byrne has obviously put a lot of effort and research into them. It's the lack of any other meaningful news that is the issue of course. The club's Twatter feed has suggested an interview with Darrell tomorrow to give us an update where we are.

No Stadium news. No review news. No signings. No positivity at all. Welcome to non-league Bristol Rovers. The Bod are carrying out their review, but like a stealth bomber. Redundancies have been issued to some staff at grass root level so far with a total of 57 years service. Obviously not expecting big crowds this coming season as these people have done their best for a club they have loved. No thought has being given to what happens if "success is around the corner!"

To turn this around what did we know 1 month before we got relegated?
One thing is for sure if we had invested half the money last January that we are set to lose from going into the conference we would have stayed up and most likely in the top half of the table, simple as that?
No foresight and non/negetive management of the club spring to mind.

Rumour and speculation, with the wall of silence from the BoD it's the only option for Gasheads.
The delay or halting of the UWE (if it happens) will therefore be a beacon that shouts, NO AMBITION HERE!

Steve Burns was a great servant to Bristol Rovers. Steve was an excellent director and was very strong in the boardroom when representing the fans views. Agree with both of you. He was also highly supportive of the Share Scheme Committee and helped Tim Blake, Sladey and myself with the fundraising quizzes, the Bullseye Night, Gas Idol, Vintage Gas nights and much, much more. One of the good guys.

:(Also sad to hear about Trish who worked tirelessly trying to fill The Mem with corporate guests on non match day. Not an easy task in a dilapidated old stadium.

Are these new unannounced redundancies?
Shocking stuff - Steve Burns was always very friendly when I chatted to him.

Think its a bit unfair to say"only the select few" can/will attend the SCEGM. After all there are approx 2000 members,a third of the usual match day crowd, let alone anyone who joins up before the meeting(not sure what the cut-off date is)Thats a very fair number I would have thought. Ok,if YOU are not a member you cannot attend, which seems fair enough to me. I shall now wait for the flak!! there were 2000 for 2013-14, but up until about 2 weeks ago there were only 500 for coming season.

Brilliant, so we have:
Higgs, Dunford Bradshaw, King, Ware, Jelf, Seymour-Smith, Masters.
More Directors than you can shake a stick at, every single one of them carrying responsibility for record losses and 2 relegations, none of them have resigned but they think it's right to get rid of Steve Burns and Trish, neither of who, as far as I'm aware, have done anything wrong.
If the volunteers who work at Pirate Leisure continue to man the shop for free then I only hope their consciences are clear when they see Steve clear his desk and leave for the last time.

The finances of the Conference are pretty basic I think and a couple of phone calls might have sorted that. You've the first year "parachute payment" from the FL and then nothing (around about £250k I think), £50k or so from the Conference Premier and whatever the TV deal is - at best another £30k I would think. Whatever money you make out of the FA Trophy, FA Cup (neither are money makers in the early rounds). Plus of course your season ticket holders and your on the day lads and lasses. Errrr....that's about it I think. PS: You'll also get fined if your manager/assistants do not wear uniform/kit showing the league slogan for 2014-15. Nearly forget that.
