Twitter (and other social media platforms) are generally a force for ill in our society. That said, I have joined Twitter as @shoveler16 in order (I hope) to bring a little Gas Guzzler class to the oft-toxic 'twittersphere'.
I start this thread for those of a like mind to link their Twitter (or other) usernames up on the Guzzler.
To those against all such things, to whose number I may yet return, please excuse the topic.
To those on Twitter, please let me know whom to follow.

Use social media sparingly and its great, a force for Interesting debate, meeting people, helping people. I shall follow you in the hope of something inspiring! A wise first sentence; not sure about the second. Thanks for the follow. Yes, it seems I am supposed to beg others 'follow' me on it too. Please do, in the twitter sense, at least. One who follows a duck is one who is lost.

To those on Twitter, please let me know whom to follow. Dear Mr Duck, As an avid twitter user, I'd advise the following. It's worth downloading TweetDeck ( or similar), then creating "lists" of people to follow. I've got a "matchday" list and a "Bristol Rovers Players" list for example. That way you can keep your main timeline full of sweetness, light, and pictures of ladies of dubious moral virtue (should one wish), and choose to stick your head into the oven of "banter" or swim in the swamp of the matchday experience only when it suits you. Following a #hashtag (#BristolRovers for example) exposes one to the full gamut of the Twitter experience ("hilarious" memes, GIF responses etc) and can only be advised on condition that you are ready to corrupt your mortal soul. I think I can send you the lists, even, when I can be arsed. Apologies for the lack of Anatidae related puns. Twitter is fun, on the whole.

Hey kids, I'm totally rocking social media now. I'm on 'Twitter', like all the youngest hipsters. I am following fifty (yes fifty) people. I am followed by nine (really nine) of you. I have retweeted six things with comments. I have replied to six things too. I have not yet determined the semantic difference. I'm so cool though. Come on down. Young Shove.

If you want a lot of twitter responses, make a comment about Dr who not being very good due to too many characters, I had an avalanche of you are racist/sexiest responses. This just beat my response level after I tweeted that the area around St Andrews was the dirtiest place I've been to since I crossed into Cambodia. I don't have a thick skin and generally have to take a deep breathe before looking at responses these days, it can be pretty nasty, but also can be rather lovely.

Yeah, it is bonkers. Luckily, no bugger writes to me, except to libel Richard Dawkins.

It can be a cesspit of bile & vitriol but then can be very helpful and a great resource. I had my wallet returned after a load of our fans retweeted my post. I can never be thankful enough as it contained things that were much more important than money, a lock of mums hair and dads lucky silver dollar, that went through the entire second front, with him

Facebook is fun if you use it properly: to take the piss out of your mates, watch daft videos of animals, wish people happy birthday and admire others' holiday pictures and share your own.
Twitter from what my wife tells me, gets too nasty and political. Not for me thanks.
Instagram is great for looking at pictures of Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek and Jodie Comer.
