Two teams whose recent performances have been poor so Blackpool beat Rovers and to win the sack race. Manager Simon Grayson lasted just seven months Ollie decribes it as 'disgracefu! If some of our fans had their way, our new manager would have not lasted seven games
It was thirteen years ago when Ricky Lambert smashed a cracker to beat City 1 - 0
Another moment like that tomorrow would do it - Get Behind Them! UTFG

Blackpool’s manager has a solitary win in the last 12 games. That was deemed unacceptable for Blackpool and they pulled the trigger.
Our board think no win in 14 is perfectly acceptable. Not that either of them are even involved in day to day operations at the current time.
A tale of two clubs right there- one with ambition to be better and one without.

Are you saying that no one is allowed a Break or a holiday?
MS is entitled to a minimum of 20 days holiday plus bank holidays like any other employee as per employment law. He’s also free to take that holiday within perfectly reasonable time limits through the year.
Now, if he had time off through late Dec and Jan when most people have time off, but we had no first team manager and a transfer window to deal with, then I could understand the flippancy towards it.
But it’s week 2 in Feb and if he can’t have 10 days off and leave the commercial director and the football management team to crack on with their roles then there is something seriously wrong.
Even if BG position is under review and he’s been given X games to turn it around then whether MS is here, on a cruise ship or on the moon makes no difference in the very short term.

After all, the 'fans' weren't happy with Coughlanball, and wanted 'entertainment'. 2) I've supported since 1970 - it's never been any different. 3) Look across the river - there's an ambitious club. But according to today's BP, they ain't happy because their club is no longer the happy fan-friendly club it once was. And ordinary fans can no longer afford to go. Football fans!! Who'd have 'em.

I agree with the long term view thing ( Although I think our owners just think 'He'll do' , and couldn't care lee one way or the other). I was a big Coughlan fan from day one, however he has gone now and although I am far (very far) from convinced about Garner, there is little point in employing him (or anyone for that matter) if you don't give them a decent run at it. By decent run I mean 2 seasons even if it meant a relegation.

‘Long term view’. Hmmm. Can anyone show me any commitment to the club from the owners beyond the end of this season? I dunno, a plan? A strategy? I’d suggest Garners remit is to keep us at this level, that’s it. Coughlan success was a big problem for the owners because it raised expectations massively amongst the supporters. Could you honestly see these clowns funding a play off/promotion bid?
I have not felt as negative towards my club like I do now. Supported since 1975. A shambles from top to bottom and heading headlong into administration.

<Possibly - just possibly - our owners are taking a long term view> What is it about evolution not revolution that you don't get? :-) You tell me. I get that the A-Q's aren't, and never were, gonna throw money at the club. My immediate thought after they took over was "just how rich are they?". When I started following, Lloyd, Roberts, Graydon, were sold in fairly quick succession "to secure the club's financial future." However, a promotion team was slowly built and it was attained... then lost when finances couldn't sustain a Second Div side and Megson left disillusioned . So we gradually declined until the Dunfords had to rescue us from extinction.I've experienced a recurring cycle. What's new? Of course, a sugar daddy like Lansdown would be nice..... or would it? From what I read in the BP about City, pensioners like me can no longer afford to go to matches. Or would you recommend overspending like Bolton, Bury, Rochdale?

But for piece of mind I have decided to get behind this new look, young Rovers side and enjoy the football. On the pitch, glass half full. Off the pitch. I'm not going to get too stressed about our idiotic, deluded owners - there's nothing we can really do about it. Maybe the hiring of Ben Garner is something they have actually got right? I'm reserving judgement on Ben Garner and this side til at least the end of March (if not a bit longer). Hope springs eternal. Keep The Faith & UTG.

Also we must not forget the lovely weedfield in South Glos and a lovely upgraded bar to drown our sorrows in. The only impressive set of figures i can highlight is the breathtaking amount of broken promises and fake news!
Quite a lot of what's gone off over the last few years can be explained by the different Culture issues. For example:
A - Family - Center of everything ( Father has first and last word)
B - Friends - Periphery, but courteous to all.
C - Honor - Very important Honor will be protected and defended at all costs.
D - Shame - (especially against family) - avoided at all costs insults and criticism taken very seriously.
E - Time - Less rigid - Approach to time is much more relaxed and slower than in Western culture.
Based solely on this I am hopeful ( in time) the Owners will deliver.
NB: Well done BG, the players and the brilliant fans yesterday - UTFG

NB: Well done BG, the players and the brilliant fans yesterday - UTFG Thank you for an eloquent reply. I accept the points you make about cultural differences. However, the Al Qadi’s have chosen to be part of our culture. Even worse, our culture at Rovers has to endure constant competition with our rivals across the river. When they took over, almost four years to the day, they inherited a once in a lifetime set of circumstances. We were about to achieve a double promotion. We had a young, ambitious manager who had the 100% backing of the supporters. We were all pulling in the same direction, had a real chance at reaching the same level of league football as that lot. The mood music around the take over was of a club whose dreams of a new stadium was finally going to happen. Training ground, investing in the squad, consolidation in the Championship and possible further progress. What happened? We all know the answer and for me this is absolutely unforgivable. We have all been made fools of. How on earth some make excuses for Wael and Starnes etc is beyond me. The debacle around Coughlans departure and the appointment of Garner has exposed horribly the incompetence of the fools who are the current custodians of OUR club. We have gone from nearly selling out the Mem for every home game to sub 6000 crowds in under four years. Don’t tell me yesterday’s attendance was 6300. It looked about 5000. For a business to lose 50% of its regular income stream is an unmitigated disaster, yet these fools have managed it and somehow expect us to think everything is fantastic? Zero communication as to whatever scant plans they have for the club, losing £65,000 per week, relations between Supporters Club and the Football Club at rock bottom. There is only one way this is heading and it isn’t good. An absolute disgrace and a bleak time in the clubs long history.

Spot on! - All the broken promises and fake news have shattered our dreams, decimated what was a fast growing fan base, ‘spooked’ lady garden to up his game - I am sure our owners are well aware of the catastrophic damage to our great club. The only hope is when circumstances change, the truth will out and we will then find out if they are men of honour.

They want everything quite literally then and now and you better have good reasons for not doing it. Us westerners are more understanding when it comes to circumstances or reasons that prevent an immediate fix.
