For me, only ever been there when it was standing room only.
Like (Scouse accent)....a Friday night, likkke....we had fun that night as it was 1990 and great fun to beat them and put ourselves prominent in the table, like..
Bones was there. He showed a picture of himself to home fans.. 😉
Weston Gas helped with transport. I saw the biggest bloke I've ever seen in my life (proper wide....I mean wider at the waist than two put together, tall and everything massive) in real life time (no, not akinfenwa)....he was playing darts ... remember that?... and we still sang in their pub!
I know we've played them in recent years. The promotion season was the most....it confirmed our place at the top courtesy of Ollie penalty score and we knew we were going places after that result.
Eric Nixon? What's his face from Everton? Team playing in white at home? No Liverpool teans in cup finals....yep, happy memories!?
Safe journey, Gas for all those travelling. Let's hope for another 3 points like in 1990. UptheGas..

Must be in doubt with their pitch and the current weather.Won't be sorry as yet another defeat to these would be too catastrophic to contemplate.

That game in 1990 was the business. Possibly the best performance that I've seen from a Rovers team. One of the supporters coaches broke down outside after the game, and our coach took on more fans, but, they had to sit in the aisle all the way home. The toilets at our end were an absolute disgrace and wouldn't be allowed these days. It was a portacabin with no lights (it was a night match) at the top of the terrace. The portacabin was on a slope and p.ss was pouring out down the terrace. Great win.

The safety officer has ruled that the quick sand in both penalty areas are too dangerous after winger Jennings was trapped for two hours while undergoing extra shooting practice, The emergency services were shocked at the state of the pitch and warned the club. They have just re ordered 59 tons of Saharan sand being delivered via the Mersey. Ben Garnet has switched training on Monday to Berrow beach,

I was at the 1990 game. Can’t remember much about it other than it being a night game and we won either 2-1 or 2-0 I think. Pitch was pretty sandy even then and the ground was a bit better than I expected

My first visit was the 1990 match. I can't even remember if Olly's penalty was right in front of us in the away terracing, or at the opposite end!
I've returned many times since, Prenton Park being at the far end of Cheshire from my current abode.
This season will be Rovers' fifteenth appearance in the League at Tranmere (not counting the FA Cup in 1931 and in 2014). Of those League fixtures, only one has been played on a Saturday!
In the late 60's and early 70's, nearly all the matches were on Friday nights. The one exception was the 1-1 draw on Monday 23rd October 1972!
The famous game in the promotion season was also on a Monday night, but that was more to do with Rovers having to cram in a lot of re-scheduled matches, if I remember rightly. (In the 8 days between Saturday 21st and Saturday 28th April 1990, Rovers drew at home to Crewe, won at Tranmere, lost at Notts Co. and beat Shrewsbury!).
Since then, Tranmere have been at home to us three times on a Friday night, once on a Sunday, and tomorrow evening (if on) will be the second Tuesday night match.
