I have had a very long and deep think about all this and have come to the conclusion that this is a bit of a weird season

The good news is that Garner now has the tools that he wants to work with. Can't expect what's pretty much a new team to click straight away, but in a couple of weeks we'll know whether or not he has a future here. But you have already made up your mind on BG...you've dismissed him as an out of his depth clown who should be plying his trade at Yate Town Everybody deserves a second chance in my opinion, it's a shame that once you decide on something you never budge, but don't worry, I'll show you the way. Seriously, previous home performances have been a total shambles with players looking at each other and looking confused to me, but I have no issue whatsoever with the bloke and hope he sorts things out.

On second thoughts, having just watched Coventry make a slight adjustment to formation during a game and Garner not react to it, I'm seriously concerned about his ability as a manager. Another woeful team display.

Seven. 4 loans and 3 permanents. barrett harries daly blackman abraham derby loan ginnelly It's fair to assume that Cheltenham won't be covering all of Tom's wages, so how do you feel about the finances of this little lot Vertigo? Personally, I'm dreading seeing the accounts that are due in a few weeks, the set after that could well be worse again. I think all the players signed are on lower wages than the players already here,i also believe more of the players already here will leave at the end of the season. Not sure about the accounts but for me the january window is proof that wael and co are committed to staying at the club.

Another woeful team display. Disagree it was woeful. I thought we were ok for 1/3 of it and playing catch up the rest. I agree with non responsive tactical when things were going wrong...we just sat back after second went in, and the half time whistle helped because they were going for 3! I do find it interesting it appears every match we cannot clear our defences to our own players, yet opposition do!(?)

On the face of it, this looks good (although as Bambi points out, we don't know the finances behind it all) The good news is that Garner now has the tools that he wants to work with. Can't expect what's pretty much a new team to click straight away, but in a couple of weeks we'll know whether or not he has a future here. That's the good thing, the owners have given garner a chance to put a team onto the pitch that can play the way he requires. He will stand or fall on what happens during the next 7 or 8 months imo [he needs better results soon as well].

I'm wondering if the players brought in are for Garner or if there's already a replacement manager in mind? BTW, o2, please see my comments in the match day thread, first 25 mins were high energy and caught Coventry off guard a bit, that part of the game was OK, after that we were dreadful and ended up getting exactly what we deserved, again.

We can't go on indefinitely without "a win".

The day he walked in we were top of the form table, today only Blackpool are below us. Performances are poor. It's hard to see what he's trying to do with the players. We allowed Bolton more than 50% possession, nobody allows Bolton more than 50% of the ball. It's been going on for a while now. He has a stay of execution whilst he works with his new recruits, but in all seriousness, things have to be seen to be improving by the end of this month.

He does not need coughlan results at least until then in my view but obviously if you keep losing that will be a different story. And for bamber i believe the signings are backing garners vision,he worked with daly in the palace academy for example. In theory young players should be his strong suit with all his premier division academy work.

We have hired the managerial equivalent of Tom Nichols. IF he finally wins a game it’s going to be greeted with ironic cheers at this rate.

Supporters have no confidence in the bloke, and I don't think the players do either. You can turn support from the terraces around quite quickly, but once the players aren't fully behind a manager, the writing is on the wall. Did that look like a team who understood what they were doing and were fully committed from minute 26 today?

Well i have never known anything quite as radical as what has happened at rovers before anywhere. We played brutal but effective football and now we have brought in a manager with a completely different philosophy which makes several of the squad surplus. He has brought in 7 players including 5 with hardly any experience. If it turns out well it makes perfect sense for a club like rovers for many reasons. Its a big "if" though.

Said in his post match interview he was making decisions which will affect the club for longer than ten games or ten weeks and that they included the infrastructure.Do you think that will mean we will be training somewhere else next season?

Surely not. It's part of our identity, the players having to pick up fox sh*t before training.

The defending for both goals was pathetic, no urgency to close down, put a foot in or pressure at all. That in and of itself suggests that either the players seen.’the playing for the manager or the manager himself is telling them to conserve their energy and only offer token resistance when we don’t have the ball- both of which aren’t good enough.

This is part of the reason he rubs me up the wrong way a bit. He’s new to management, he hasn’t got a win to his name and yet he’s brass necked enough to dismantle what was working and now he’s dictating our infrastructure over the next year? If he had some sort of pedigree on the pitch that justify his methods then I could get behind that...or maybe I’m just being too territorial.

Well we were all very up beat and looking forward to today's game and for 35 minutes we were the better team and if the match had ended then we would all still be buzzing.
Agreed, we were poor for the rest of the match, and clearly not acceptable, nevertheless I expect once Ben has schooled and worked out who makes up his first eleven, our initial positivity will be vindicated.
So two thirds of a game on from our best ever transfer day business, and already the manager is getting lambasted- I don't get it , I really don't get it..................
