He at least knows the problem. The players aren’t backing him. The best decision to make is for him to step up or step aside to let a parachute manager rescue a dire situation.
Warnock or Steve Cotterill please!!

I rarely read pre or post match articles, but I'm liking BG less and less, the ballcocks he comes out with in his interviews are getting more ludicrous:
All on the same page..[with]... the president and the chief executive, they have been great in that respect. Because I think they knew the situation here when I came in and what was in place.
The fact where we were in the league probably wasn’t a representation of where we were on the pitch... is he mad, you've got to do certain things on the pitch to get to 4th?
He's using the ...players playing for their futures... card with transfer window on horizon a bit early.
...I grew up in a working class family... please.
...trying to build a strong house not a tent that blows over... the ridiculous new family stand is better than what he has produced.
... injuries...injuries... injuries blah blah blah, all teams have injuries, it's how you deal with them that matters.
The theory put forward by many that BRFC do not want to go up (not one I believe) is easy to support when at the chance of going up GC suddenly left after commuting for all that time. The club could even go down, and Div 4 is cheaper and losses will be reduced.
Will I renew my ST, along with many, who knows?

Will I renew my ST, along with many, who knows? It’s breathtaking isn’t it? Managers have to have some self belief as part of the job but his knack of blaming everything but himself displays one of the most extreme cases of solipsism in football that I have ever seen. Imagine if we get relegated having been 4th before Golden Balls showed up. He will still find a way to make out that it was all GC’s fault even though he lost 1 of his last 18 or so games. It is maddening enough that Garner is still here, his complete lack of any culpability just makes it even worse. Get out of our club!

The next home game will see some hardcore abuse and vituperation from the East terrace &, lets be honest, who could blame them. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more stewards in the area directly behind him or maybe even see it cleared of any fans that turn up. I don’t see how anyone would want to deal with that, let alone one with his own problems to deal with. Sometimes you have to know when it’s time to let go and prioritise the most important things in life. I wouldn’t want to be placing myself in that position.

I hope that the same team, levels of enthusiasm and energy are on show this Saturday, if we get a result, I just might be a halfway house, still lot's of questions to be answered. COYB!.

This is from 11th March, just spotted it....
From the BBC
Bristol Rovers manager Ben Garner has been fined £500 by the Football Association for comments he made in the media about a match referee.
Garner's remarks about referee Ben Toner after Rovers' League One defeat by Sunderland on 22 February were deemed to constitute improper conduct.
Garner, 39, admitted they questioned the integrity of the match officials and/or brought the game into disrepute.
Midfielder Abu Ogogo was sent off in the 3-0 defeat at the Stadium of Light.

That news didn't go viral.
But since, we all know what did..

Awful thread at such an early stage in his time at Rovers, but it's been poor, has'nt it. From top of the form league to near bottom From 4th in the table to mid-table. Do you see it improving? The Board told us "he was the outstanding candidate".Were the rest flesh eating zombies?Or is that the board? It must be tough on Ben right now,he can't be enjoying himself, for that I feel sorry for the bloke. But Rovers are the important thing here. We've gone from organised fighting challengers to a confused lost relegation candidates. In 7 games. I hope I'm wrong and things work out but I'm afraid I think the Board have slipped up badly and we ought to say 'sorry, thanks and goodbye' to Ben as soon as possible. Stay or go? January 12th posted. I've tried to see real improvement, something solid but it just ain't happening. Edit.We beat Sunderland, looked impressive and it gave us hope. What happened with that game? What was different?

Sunderland didn’t turn up. I listened to the game and Sunderland sounded very lacklustre. I’m not sure they are a very professional club and they are suffering from a “Bertie big bollocks” malaise. If they played to their potential they would blow a Ben Garner side away. Yet they rolled over meekly at the mem and took an age to get going at the Stadium of light at the start of the season. Contrast that with the other big club at our level, Ipswich, who have done two very professional jobs on Garner in the last few weeks. I’ve also heard it said that the defeat at the mem was what caused Sunderland to lose out on the play offs by PPG. If you had told the Sunderland team that night before the game that this was the last game they would play before PPG was used to decide their fate do you still think we would have beaten them 3-0? No, neither do I. Imo Garner has yet to beat a team that has turned up and played to the best of their ability. Lots of people are eyeing up Northampton as an easy three points for Garner but for my money if Curle can get Northampton pumped up for this game (and given their results so far they have every reason to be up for it) then they should at least come away with a draw. Our defence is so powder puff that we’ll give away plenty of chances if Northampton take the game to us.

A mate seemed to think some of our senior players had a chat together and with BG and it was decided a more CG style was the way to play for that game.I wondered if anyone else had heard similar?
