The squad was performing well. We were in a play off place so what changes were required other than a new person to head the coaching? The biggest risk was to bring in an outsider especially one who is inexperienced so why take such a massive risk when there was no need to do so and at a time when changes to the squad would be difficult hence my statement, promote from within and reassess at the end of the season. that's a fair point, although I think the owners felt that they did that last season (when, admittedly, the squad wasn't performing well), so that it was now time to look longer-term Maybe but not mid season.

Epping Gas must be the authority on this!? We thought about nesting on the east bank of the Lee, but we went for the west bank, so I can't claim Essex expertise. Over to you, Uncle Eppers.

Unless Southend are somehow inferior to Bolton and Tranmere I sense the best we can hope for his a draw, although without Ogogo we've been shocking in the last 1.5 games. Assuming we don't actually win an away game under BG next Saturday then the next winnable home game looks to be Rochdale at the end of the month, unless Ipswich are really on the slide, after that only Lincoln at home looks remotely winnable but even they'll probably have a big aay following for their last away game of the season.
If we don't win next Saturday and then suddenly start performing as we did under GB then it looks at best we can hope for 3 wins in BG's 20+ games in charge, after that is he really then going to turn things around in the summer? Season ticket sales should be interesting if BG's still in charge when they go on sale!

One question is whether we will be in a better position in 12 months time sticking with the Garner plan or whether the plan is a just a theory that cannot be implemented in practice with the people and resources at disposal. This includes both skills of coaches and administration in addition to capital resources to provide the tools to achieve (training ground, recruitment, etc). If so do we stick with Garner but bring in a Warnock. I’m in the camp that Holloway would have achieved with the resources given therefore the Garner plan is not working. Whether that’s solely due to Garner or that the accountability of failure should include Wael and Starnes, players or coaches is, IMO, the real question. I think you are right here. I felt it was very odd that it was a panel of 3 who did the interviews and that made me think that there was not one of them who had the courage of their convictions, to take responsibility for the appointment and possible outcome of it

If AMPG claims our illustrious leader has an Essex accent (ie a nauseous nasal estuary whine) then that's good enough for me...

spoke to Ken while he sold me a 50/50 ticket Hey Harry. Amongst all of your stuff, do you have a pic of Greasy Joe that you could post on here? Funnily enough saw a pic of your hero Joe in a rovers programme when I was editor in about 1989 Joe works in the pasty hut in away end now totally different but still a fan of club and a staunch supporter of master ken

We need to move on. We don't have time to waste... Surely we can't go up or down though now, can we? BG's blown the season already. If he shouldn't be building for 2020-21, who should? I gave him enough rope I was wrong I doubt he could build a sandcastle UTFG/STB

If his team lose at Roots Hall this coming Saturday and The Trannies pick up a win at Stanley then I think things are going to get quite difficult for Mr Garner, I think that he will now be here for the remainder of this season but that might be as far as goes with regards to his tenure.

He talks a good game, lots of guff about putting foundations in place (we'll gloss over the unfortunate tents analogy). Obviously I don't know what is going on behind the scenes but to an outside observer (i.e. me) there is no discernable evidence of any strong foundations being put in place. Or any foundations at all. A complete disaster of an appointment.

So sorry for stating the bloody obvious, but BG quite simply has to go.
Sunderland, Ipswich, Peterborough, Rochdale, Oxford, Burton, Accrington, Portsmouth, Lincoln & Gillingham are our final 10 games.
We are 13 points clear, which is a 5 game lead, how many points can we get out of at least 5 other games.

A point at home to Lincoln is the best I can see with Benny still in charge, and even that is probably beyond us
