I think garner has handled the nichols situation badly. No need to go for public humiliation in my view especially with the injury problems and the doubts about adebeyo and reilly. TN publicly humiliated himself more often than not most Saturdays.. Garner was just joining in.

When I think back at the vitriol towards Steve White, Paul Tait, Martin Cameron, Mickey Evans etc, these players were like Ian Rush compared to Nicholls, yet TN would still get clapped off the pitch!! 4 goals in 94. Will never be surpassed. Yes, agree, in total Tom Nichols has scored 9 goals in 115 games for us and 71 goals in 319 career games, good stats for a midfielder but dire for a striker. Steve White for us 44 goals in 150 games, Paul Tait 20 goals in 81 games, Martin Cameron 8 goals in 49 games & Mickey Evans 6 goals in 26 games for us. Plus Robin Stubbs (32 goals in 93 games) Graham Withey (10 goals in 22 games) Matty Taylor (61 goals in 118 games) all received abuse by some of the "faithful and true".

I seem to remember Dave Gilroy warming up as a sub at half-time and just standing there whacking the ball into the back of the empty net, again and again and again from about the six yard-box.

We really need to get rid of both Nichols and Bennet. Their wages alone are crippling us financially and blocking others coming in.

Have Walsall, Mansfield or Exeter come in for our free-scoring goal scoring machine yet? Any other takers? Anyone? There's a good footballer in there. Honest. I know that because it's been quoted so many times by people with fantastic sporting knowledge on football forums.

I am pretty sure that Adeboyejo is more than capable given the chance to have a worst record over time to Nichols who at least can control a football.I know the timing of making Tom available had to happen because of the window but we now have the ridiculous situation where we struggle to find one fit player to play upfront and managed to get 1 shot on target on Wednesday against the 23rd team in League Two.

He could have told the player but not gone public. Scouts and potential buyers could have been made aware but without the publicity. I think TN can either now play out of his skin, in the effort to attract others or sulk and play even worse, if he plays. It’s been dealt with in a very bizarre manner, it reminds me of the dark period where we had the revolving door of managers

In short, niether Laughing. Play that way with two attacking midfielders GC did a couple of times (Ollie and Sercs). Give Bennett and Nichols a further tadte of not playing, itight encourage them to persuade their precious agents to get a deal.Wage cut acceptable!

I refer the learned gentleman to the stint he put in against Coventry.

I refer the learned gentleman to the stint he put in against Coventry. I laughed reading that. I never thought of him as a striker but more of an attack minded midfielder. I think his goals, for other clubs, came from more of a midfield position but that is just going on what little I’ve read about him. It just seems very strange how this has been handled & it bothers me that I now think we have a manager that picks a team that our president has influenced, strongly. I hope that I get proven very wrong but I think BG is not doing things his way, alone

What a total balls up
