Really looking forward to Plymouth in round two, after brushing aside Bromley on tuesday. Sure it was match perfect for insomniac's but Rovers were on a hiding to nothing. All neutral fans were rooting for the underdogs, and a very narrow plastic pitch made football very difficult. Also our talisman striker was clearly not fully fit, nevertheless he got the goal, and despite playing with a handicap (TN) an excellent dogged display by the other nine players saw us home with a little flair! Blow away Plymouth and we have the anticipation of the third round draw : Will it be Liverpool, Man U, Tottenham, or another easy route through to round four with a trip to Ashton!
UTG Despite the Beeb's ham fisted, cringeworthy efforts in jazzing up the FA Cup draws-a few old farts and a black velvet bag full of balls was actually all the excitement needed- I still do love the draw for the third round and would love us to be in it. I enjoy the tension and anticipation of hoping we get one of the big boys before the inevitable disappointment of Peterborough away.

Not long to wait now! - once our Hero's have depatched Plymouth we will be the last ball in the bag in monday's third round draw. We are ball no.64 joining twenty Premier sides plus around half of the Championship sides are ex big fish. That gives us a one in two chance of gettig a plumb draw, bring it on! UTG

Lowe warned Rovers after the Bromley game.
Team talk done.
Stick his arrogance down his throat gas.
Get back in your league.

Plymouth , a second division side by the way have had one side of their ground closed so that they can build a new multi million pound stand. We on the other hand have in the past and again v Plymouth will have one side of the ground closed in the hope it will save a few pennies. f**king embarrassing or what.

2nd Muff pen, Mayonnaise (who'd been having another good game) red card for Byron Moore falling over!

Same old same old.
60 minutes of watching paint dry. 30 minutes of competing with the opposition.
Massive gaps in midfield. Whatever we are paying our manager and coaches, it's too much, this isn't a one off.
I doubt we had Plymouth watched, had we done so we would have picked out No 6 as a player to run at, Tyson Fury's bigger brother, no skill whatsoever, just a body for clearing crosses and getting in the way. As we always do, we failed to exploit an obvious weakness of the opposition. Teams must love playing us.
Weak referee, should have booked their player for the first dive to try to win a penalty, then the second one wouldn't have happened and he wouldn't have felt under pressure with the third dive.
You know that referees know they have made mistakes when they start waving cards in all directions, including to non-playing staff, that's just trying to deflect attention.
Still, you always have a chance with JCH on the pitch, but he's not going to stick around with a club that's going nowhere, playing negative rubbish.

Just got back!
Sabbath football is a strange one, but when did we last lose on a Sunday!??
We are playing poorly at the Mem since Rotherham, but 4/5 wins in November and a draw surely makes GC a m o m contender!??
We took off the disaster waiting to happen Upson for a more conventional 2 up front formation, go one nil up, then look most vulnerable in match!??
All these parodies add up to us playing poorly, boring football, yet within a sniff of the playoffs and in good positions of progressing in two cup competitions.
Is this better than this time last year?
So.... today.... Dire officials made some howlers.
Apparently radio said their first penalty was a fair shout. I didn't see it like that, I thought they arguably had better shouts on the previous two, which weren't penalties at all!
Little just used his upper body strength on one of those shouts, fella falls over like he's been snipered, why isn't he booked for simulating? Ref waved away the plea, surely he's duty bound to book?
The penalty (they scored) incident was from a c o c k up from Ollie whom totally broke the tempo of our attack by playing another sideways ball instead of keeping up the built pressure....the resulting pass was misplaced allowing them to counter at pace.
The penalty save incident was Meyonaisse allowing Moore to get goal side of him but Moore (fair play) standing up and shrugging the challenge, then as he came to shoot (my heart sunk because he was through 1 on 1) his foot went over the ball and he slipped over with no one around him....keeper was in front of him, it appeared (East Terrace opposite tunnel) from where I was he completely fluffed it up! .... unless ref played advantage and thought he was fouled before (?) But he didn't whistle.
Also, ref missed a completely obvious and blatant pass back. Loads of other infringements and a hand ball in their box etc missed, definitely one offside missed by east side link, possibly 2 more.
All this is adding up to we did not do enough to compliment a win today.
Well done Plymouth, the only thing I like out of there is the gin. Mickey Evans and Tommy Tynan and Ronnie Mauge can all f off..
Today's highlights were Mayonnaise (my m o m) and Alfie. I liked Craig too, whom was unlucky not to score if ball had come down quicker. JCH again class with making things happen....real handful and helped set up our goal. Abu work for everything.
Today's lowlights Upson. And Ollie.... I'm afraid I wasn't there last weekend, it now feels like ages since last seen a brilliant captain and midfield performance from Ollie.
Jury very much out on Little. Maybe he needs more time to settle?
Anyways, we are not out cup yet. Funnily enough I'm more confident away to them....who knows, we might feel more like not standing like statues? No more backs to goal when we have attack? No more pass back to keeper from a width attacking move?
We played too narrow. Too deep. JCH needed more support and a decent strike partner. Midfield anonymous.
But hey, again we didn't lose..

Is this better than this time last year. If you prefer gaping holes on the terraces then it probably is for you.

Don't you dickheads on here get it. With coughlan in charge we will not survive for much longer. Can you remember the last time parts of the ground were closed to save money. How many gasheads will go to the replay 400 is my guess. Not so long ago it would have been at least 1,500. Gasheads are pissed off big time. It's not about your loyal gas head friends it's about the bigger picture.

Happy to still be in the cup, just... Wait until you see the highlights. 2 ridiculous penalty decisions. If those are penalties then there ought to be about 20 in every game, certainly 1 at every corner I've ever seen taken for starters.
