Thanks. I somehow thought they were involved but I have been reading they have been approached? You know how message boards get clogged up with ITK stuff, where people suggest things but won't quite come out and say it? Well, here you go. I asked YTL directly if they had been approached by Rovers or anybody representing Rovers regarding incorporating football facilities into their Filton plans. They looked confused and said that there had been no contact. In response to a different question, they said that they knew nothing at all about the Fruit Market development plans. I have no reason to think that they would not be telling the truth. Remember that a football stadium in isolation makes no sense whatsoever in St Phillips, in fact, it's a totally ridiculous location. But look at a map and see where that site is in relation to the original proposed Arena location. Add to that, there's a reason why our Mayor is all over this. I don't think that YTL would build 2 Arenas in Bristol. Sat here grinning my head off thinking about poor old George cycling along, all red in the face and angry. Thanks for that Bambi, I don’t really believe much of what’s written and I used to be much more active in digging , writing to people, going to training sessions but the illness put pay to that. There are a couple who I think get pretty close to the truth though. Where did you hear red trousers please ? I’d love to hear him if it’s on a catch up programme

But its "no lose" for them, you told me that so why would they not smile? Theres a difference between being relieved and happy. Having been put through the wringer, I know exactly how that feels and yes, it’s a huge difference.

I think they import their news from Radio Bristol. Give Ujima a go, if it got any more laid back it would fall over.

The guy was so full of himself and he would turn up, at boxing and really loved having selfies taken. He played the part, just like some kind of pop star

No doubt his days are filled up with working hard on all of those issues relating to Bristol that worry him so much.

You absolute beauty Angas . You always come through on stuff like this. Thank you very much land behind Temple Meads being sold by the Council to 'a City of London fund, without competition', and there is 'something shady' about it

My lord, he sounds so bitter. It’s not like he can give examples of what he did as an example. He was guilty of nepotism & I wouldn’t be surprised if this gets brought up at some later stage. Where you can build in the centre, you should build in the centre yet he conveniently forgets how congested and bad it is and much is down to roads being changed while he was mayor. A case of sour grapes, of that there is no doubt. The saddest part is that he still believes he is a beloved figure. Quite a sad piece to be honest or that’s how it sounds to me

He sounded beyond bitter. Performers will boycott a venue that's easier to access, sorry George but you are making no sense at all.

Thank you very much land behind Temple Meads being sold by the Council to 'a City of London fund, without competition', and there is 'something shady' about it That may refer to the proposed deal with Legal & General to develop what used to be Arena Island with a mixed use proposal. L&G will build an office block which BCC agree to rent for 40 years. BCC don’t need any office space so they will have to sub-let it for 40 years to cover the cost. (You may remember the mayor saying that a 25 year lease for the arena was ‘too risky’). L&G will then build affordable housing in tower blocks. What legal guarantee is there that this will happen? None at all, but it’s ok because L&G’s shareholders have their initial investment covered by BCC renting the office block. Ferguson may be bitter about the loss of ‘his’ arena, but he’s right to be angry about this.

By the same token, did they approach Rovers about working together? It would appear to be as beneficial for them as Rovers.

Our owners have constantly been banging on about their plans, beautiful pieces of land, having the best experts already working with them etc, why would YTL think for 1 second that there was no plan and we needed their help? Either way, all I was trying to do was share actual information and not do what people like Knowall / Fanatical always do which is give 10% of a story and a hint that I know much more to try to make myself look important.

It’s still nice of you to help so it stops me trawling through pages of nonsense. I only listen to radio in the car or in hospital and the hospital wards rarely allow it now, strictly headphones, apart from the chemo suite at southmead.

Ah, well you won't know it but you help me out a lot on here. It seems every time there's something I don't understand you ask for an explanation. I only have the radio on in the car these days too, so it's pot luck what I actually catch. (Edit: Just noticed I managed to click the like button instead of quote. Don't suppose it matters though, in the grand scheme of things.)
