What was the ticketing problem? People who can’t be arsed to buy a ticket in advance I presume? Bought mine on Monday and used the ‘print at home’ option, worked a treat. But any excuse for Bamber to have a cheap pop at TG I suppose. It’s like being professional is still an anathema to quite a few. So, those hundreds of people shouldn't expect an efficient system to allow them to gain entry to the ground, and mentioning that Gorringe has had over a year to sort that out makes me the bad guy in your rather odd view of the world. If you think this is an acceptable level of professionalism then you took Buckle seriously when he told us to lower our expectations. Want an example of just how 'professional' things have become under him? I know you don't because it destroys your argument, but you are getting it anyway. Go to the official site and look at the tickets section, not only is it still riddled with woeful spelling and grammar, it hasn't been updated for many weeks and is still proudly announcing that you have until Tues Aug 5th to buy your season ticket and gives a number to call. Utterly hopeless, but typical. Of course, I could have just replied with a single word, Mintbet….

I reckon this match report has hit the nail right on the head. We are going nowhere and everybody knows it. The football is dull and there is zero ambition at the top.

That's a fair comment, but ask Southend if they would like our 'dull' manager who would make them about as interesting as Twitter or Love Island but would also make them a lot harder to beat.

He has organised the team and they work hard. But i would argue that he selected 9 defensive minded players for a home match v gillingham. I love my sinclair, ogogo types but if the whole team are like them its going to be a painful watch imo and sure enough we are just that.

I have just woke up from a dream, i was at the Mem on tuesday and all six thousand of us were standing up but the top of our bodies were slumped forward in a comatised manner Some out there would have you believe that its the football we been watching that has caused our bodies to react this way , unfortunately we have all been exposed to a drug commonly known as 'spice' its a direct result of all the bulls*** we breathed in over the last few years. Now its all starting to make sense of course the two thousand missing fans must all be in rehab............I must go back to sleep it will all be back to normal in the morning. UTG

Are you refering to people 'having' to queue up at the ticket office on a match day?
I have used my season ticket and a print at home ticket this season. tap or scan, entry. No problems what so ever

I didn't say that anybody couldn't get in to the ground, stop making things up. What I did was truthfully report on long queues at turnstiles after the game had started and speculate that they were the result of our pathetic ticketing system. But thinking about it, there must be another issue as people can't be released from the ticket office quickly enough for a backlog like that to build up. Of course, what happens next is that is that, despite the attendance, inc all season ticket holders, some of whom probably weren't there, being 6000, the apologists instantly all crawl out of the woodwork and blame those who get stuck in an inefficient system.

Sorry for my choice of words. I am genuinely trying to understand what the problem is.
I have used 2 methods of entry this season and had zero problems getting in the ground with the system we have
I could just as easily speculate that the problem is fans staying in the bar until 2.55 or 7.40

Maybe someone would get caught once like that. The ticketing system is rubbish, people aren't searched until they arrive at the turnstile so that causes a delay, insufficient number of stewards searching at peak times, the bing-bong boxes keep breaking, are there announcements in the bars advising people that they should leave at 2-45 to ensure that they see the start of the game? We know all of this, but nothing is done because the person responsible is clueless.

I would add that the service at the POTD ticket office is a bit pants. Took about 5 minutes to buy tickets for Blackthorn Terrace (Brighton game) and I had the exact money. How many clicks are needed exactly on the system to process this? Cash til and pre-printed tickets... service time approx. 10 seconds. I'll mail Tom G. Unlike Bambi - I have found him responsive and helpful. UTG.

Fellow in front of me was on his own, possibly in his 60s/70s and dressed smart/casual. He happened to be wearing a flat cap. Steward asked him to take off his cap and then examined it closely, running his fingers around the rim. What did he expect to find....a Kalashnikov...a flare...?

This happened to East Stand fella too and he asked them what they were looking for, the steward replied " razor blades". The fella is long ago retired. (?). He actually felt quite proud!

There'll always be missing thousands on nights like this as long as the EFL put league games on Champions League nights. It's not rocket science and nothing to do with club loyalty. I for one find it irritating because I want to see both live, not have to choose between one or the other. That doesn't help but its just an excuse. However you wrap it up Attendance: 6,370 (231 Gills fans) is very poor. The person I go with and have been friends with for over forty years, he is normally very supportive and defensive of the team but he phoned me early on Tuesday and said J, I am just not feeling it. I was shocked by that as I can only ever remember him missing games if he had holidays, it really does seem that there has been a real sea change in attitude. We have a mostly older fan base and many are now just not feeling it also and don’t see any leadership or ambition. I guess we all prioritise as we get older. That number should have been around 1500 more.

Thanks Steve.Understand your frustration with no communication from on High.Up here ,Stoke,Vale and Crewe have regular updates on local Radio, press etc with Stoke's Chairman Peter Coates aware fans want a big name manager to replace their no-win current Nathan Jones but he speaks about his feelings and explains why he is prepared to give him time. Recall Nick Higgs having regular bulletins but he never actually said anything of substance.Weal's very rare statements are not good and a couple of years ago when pushed about a new or re-built stadium his response about having provided new hand driers was cringeworthy in the extreme. Out of his depth clearly but currently we have what we have. WAQ should up his game and now is one of those times for a call to arms pitch. He was seen and heard everywhere, when we had the promotions but he must understand that you cannot just go into hiding with attendances dwindling. We really could do with some snippet that gives us some hope of better to come.

That number should have been around 1500 more. I agree with this. The last game I went to was Tranmere and noticed the average age of those attending. I doubt there are any official figures regarding average ages but I bet we are near the top of the league for the elderly. I was in Bristol on Tuesday and missed the game because I didn't know that it was on. Probably my fault for being too busy to view social media. I was in a barbers in Bristol on Wednesday listening to an elderly supporter explaining why he had stopped going and buying a season ticket for the first time in 40 years. It was all about hope and feeling part of a club. He was explaining how sadly he feels that neither are apparent at Bristol Rovers any more. Something is happening behind the scenes that is for sure but I also feel that the football club is secondary to those plans. Whatever is happening appears to be about land and property and creating wealth for people but not BRFC. I wait to be proved wrong and hopefully I am.

I closed the Swinton insurance shop in Kingswood in February when I got made redundant and they closed the branch, someone told me an hour later there were people outside wanting to pay for their insurance and we were still receiving 3 or 4 cheques a day for premiums by the time it closed. Not everyone can do online

Not everyone can do online That’s really a sad thing to hear and I did wonder why it closed. I have a few people who I help out, if they need firms filled or tickets bought online. I’ve had a fair few problems with our online ticketing orders. From not being able to select seats to having valid and perfectly good credit cards refused. You are right, many still don’t do online, most are embarrassed to say so.

It was there for 30 years on TMH Rd (I wasn't I might add..) just how life goes, but the clientele was aged 40+, there is a place on the high street for insurance brokers, but not the way Swinton ran them unfortunately..
