Paid the price for not scoring when on top 2nd half. Was pretty football tho Gills not really worth the draw, though have to admit we were hanging on at the end Commentators said we looked tired at 70 mins Little and Sercs disappointing. We were just kicking it long at the end. Looked out of ideas. Agogo good until last quarter when he faded Hope Hare is OK. Excellent Smith goal Strange game. 1st half both teams poor Sercombe disappointing? He was a breath of fresh air, someone who can get his foot on the ball and look up, in a forward direction, can pass to a player wearing the same colour shirt, held his position as well. The exact opposite of Ollie Clarke.

Watch Sercombe fail to get a anywhere close to block the cross for the equaliser!
Apart from 5 mins after Clarke went off the midfield disappeared for the remainder of the second half!
This midfield of 3 fails at home I fear.

Just got back!
What a shame.
Fine margins and all that, but disconcerting we conceded again in last few minutes to dramatically change result.
I thought a draw was a fair result.
I'm disappointed with that as we had chances, half chances to make the game safe.
Big negativity was the lack of atmosphere and feelings of frustration from terraces, which completely justified. Also, two key injuries....I hope they recover quickly as both replacements as nice as it was to see them, flattered to deceive. Little especially, awful contribution.
Big positivity was again the front two. Pulled Gills everywhere, worked hard and Tyler richly deserved his goal. Big positivity the keeps, made some great saves including a caught shot on his goalline.
Abu and Ed are becoming formidable midfield.
Really like Alfie match tonight, got head on everything, linked well with an in form Davies. And Craig, whom had head bandaged up first half yet still managed headers. Thing is, our defence doesn't seem to block crosses or shots effectively. Sometimes teams pass their way through us with ease. It looked like a Little placed shot that should have been blocked for their goal but TBF to them they were knocking on the door as had upped tempo in attack done time before.
Also, all our cleared balls went to them, and all their cleared balls went to them! - how does that work?
It feels like two points thrown away, but am pretty sure if there were more than 6 minutes added time we might have walked away with nothing as surrendered dominance when Victor came on.
Linesman on East side must have had a heavy flag as he missed fouls on JCH and Tyler in first half, foul throws, throw ins not being taken in correct place, offsides, yet somehow managed to draw strength to raise it on Sercombe high challenge that resulted in stupid yellow card. Normal service resumed on East side, methinks.
So, to conclude a win v Gills, and a draw v Lincoln would have been acceptable. I guess it just depends on your pov, but I feel disappointed and such a shame....if we win tonight, get a result v Wombles we could be somewhere near or in play offs. Who knows what attendance that would have brought v Rotherham Saturday week?
Better than uninspiring 12th, I can tell thee..

I badly miss good ball playing footballers like bodin and lines when i go to watch rovers. Tonight i watched an honest bunch of battlers grind out a 1-1 against an honest bunch of battlers. But like virtually every game under coughlan i was bored by the mediocrity of the football. Football without style can be effective i know, just look at tony pulis but its not the football i enjoy watching. I hope hare is ok as he looks like a very good signing.

We said almost exactly those same words! Our goal was worked really well, but they were always going to equalise. Yet again, we have keepers who can't catch, or at least get rid of a shot. We look disjointed.

Definite consensus on here seems to what a shame, and I would agree. Reason for feeling like this is we nearly ground out a 1-0.
Where we disagree is that I didn't think Gills were that good, or deserved a point. They gave the ball away a lot, and we should really have made our early 2nd half pressure count.
The game seemed to spin after the Hare injury, although I agree Little was poor, we stopped attacking our right, his crosses were outstanding again. He'll be a big miss.
Upson made a big difference and was my MOM. Leahy did well, the back 3 and keeper were excellent, Ogogo was everywhere, an amazing tackle in midfield at one point. JCH won countless fouls in decent areas, Smith ran his heart out.
We just couldn't get that 2nd goal but ultimately we didn't lose. 1 defeat in 5. Improving.
The crowd was down because the missing 2000 were all in the traffic before the game!!!
Disappointing but at least we're not Oxford who couldn't score at Bolton, who was upftont?? sssss

Little was limping after first tackle, assume he was trying to run it off. Clarke misplaces a pass, and he's slated. Ogogo fails with about 90% of his passes and, but he made a great tackle. He's a poor Sincs!

Apart fro the odd 5 mins in games we cannot dominate teams for a period. Not expecting to hear "score in a minute, we're going to........"
Last 10 or 15 mins last night was quiet, expecting them to score.
Great we did not lose, but I would like some more entertainment, some more excitement, an expectation of a goal coming.
Maybe the days of testing a keeper in a game have gone.

TG, I wish I felt that way, and not questioning my season ticket purchase. Sorry for me that was dross. We did have some tidy play in the first 20 mins or so, got the goal from nothing but great striker play. Second half, the Upson dribble and JCH header, was there anything else I missed that can be called offensive football, at home to another very average side?

Well, I guess we all see it different!, I thought some of the patterns of play and quick passing to feet from Rovers was very good, and much improved, however some of the crossfield balls we played were a bit wayward at times, perhaps watching on ifollow with a pitch view from on high put some gloss on the game!. I think the Gills substitutions gave them more attacking prowess in the second half, and Ogilvy for Gills more than played his part in thwarting us at the back and going forward, wheras the Rovers substitutions impacted negatively in the main with both little & Adeboyajo being kept very quiet, it was a pity we did not put in more shots as Bonham did not look confident at all, and this was down to the Gill's tidy defence, if only the Upson shot had crept in, the game would have been put to bed.

They pushed someone into the area Upson works in, effectively stopping Upson. Which may have stopped us.
If Ogogo performance was near mom, then yes things are that bad.

This is an off centre comment but our pitch is to wide for the system we play. We should bring the touchlines in to the minimum allowable width, negative I know but our cloggers can’t get close enough to kick anybody.

Gillingham got close enough to get palms in our faces, arms around our waists, kick our ankles, pull our shirts and obstruct us all over the pitch for 90 minutes. For around 30 seconds Rovers forgot what that they have been told to play Atkinsball and passed the ball and moved, Gills were chasing shadows. We are our own worst enemies.

By the time he came on we were so far back, so deep there was nothing to go on, apart from sweeping diagonal style 'passes' come clearances. Replacing one lively striker chasing shadows with another isn't where we should be looking to criticize.

But I was told earlier in the thread that Coughlin wasn’t a defensive manager?!

Highlights were few and far between if we are honest. JCH always a threat wins free kicks and never reacts to fouls on him. Tyler Smith looked lively. Davies, Craig and Kilgour look solid Ogogo worked hard. Little flair and entertainment value to attract lost fans. But unbeaten at home in the league.
