It’s a strange situation because we are as high as we’ve been this century yet the atmosphere at games is very poor. I drive up for a couple of hours to watch us and look forward to it yet I get in the ground and the atmosphere or rather lack of it takes a lot of the enjoyment out of it. The style of play isn’t the best but then we don’t have the best of players tbh. Since Bodin went we have been needing a similar type player or a creative midfielder and until we get one of those I cant see our style changing. And I’m not sure GC really wants more creativity, perhaps this style is his style, hard to tell. GC and the players need congratulating for getting us where we are but it’s a very hard watch and only the most avid gasheads will be turning up. The problem with our style of football is that we could be playing the same way we are and instead of snatching narrow wins we could be suffering narrow defeats. The margins are very fine. Its almost like the last 2 and a bit seasons since the UWE went wrong has sucked all the good-feel stuff out of the club and it has infected the fans and atmosphere around the club. Very sad. UTG!

Fair play Wareham, I live 10 mins away and feel its a grind and enjoyment it isnt. The whole stuff on offer has a feeling of negativity and that's not just the managers style of play.
Its getting easier to miss games, and Ive had a ST for many years. I have felt so much passion for my club since a boy, even when we incredibly dropped out of the league, but right now its just bloody miserable all round.

Currently we're fifth in the third division, and only five points adrift of the automatic promotion places. The absence of five figure attendances now would be a damning indictment of the manager and 'board'. We got them trying to get into the fourth division, and trying to get into the third. Yet still I look at the league position without considering promotion to the second division. And so few of us seem to be enjoying the matches. What's football for, exactly?

I am genuinely happy you are enjoying watching. I only say it as I feel it and not to be contentious. I didn't attend on Saturday, and that looks like a big mistake with the second half comeback. The league position is totally incredible, with the games I have seen. Something is working even if the style of play hasn't been great to watch.

I’d have left the ground buzzing and for the first time this season. It sounds like the crowd produced some atmosphere too and that is very good to hear. The elephant in the room is the loss of around 2K on the attendance. I think this tells its own story

I mean there's clearly a certain bloody mindedness and a good never say die attitude in there somewhere. But even then you normally need some actual strategy of some description and everytime I've watched us play under GC we've spent large parts of the game looking like we didn't even know what we were trying to do let alone failing to execute it. But, as you say, we must be doing something right.
It's almost like none of us actually know what we're talking about......

Ironically the second half of last season, I was very disappointed re DC going, but admired GC's doggedness and in charge he kept us up. But somehow with a fresh season, I don't want to just see doggedness week in and out. Wycombe are a casing point, demonstrating the seasons standard isn't the best, I think that's why we are doing so well points wise, and certainly the fear of relegation isn't there, but neither is there much enjoyment. How about this for an idea, we will have a reversal of last season, safe by Jan, and then we go for it with expansive exciting football, keeping the defensive strength and finish top 3?

I could be wrong, but didn't Wycombe splash the cash a bit in the summer? I cannot see any reason that would have made GC change things after the 'doggedness' of last season proved so successful. Had we signed Lionel Messi in the summer, he may have had a rethink.

In my opinion we are being run down, asset stripped by stealth and I fear we will be looking at the end game. Ask some questions and see the responses. Wycombe look like doing the opposite. Bloody bankers

Bloody bankers Not being funny KP, but check what asset stripping is. Our main asset is being, or has been frittered away, but not sure it's been stripped.

I don't want to see Tom Nichols naked or stripped in any way thank you.....but frittered away sounds better.
Can't think of any other prize asset..

If you are correct, then it could mean that Higgs handed the club over at below market value and trusted these guys as, to drag up an expression from the past, ''custodians''. How's that playing out do you reckon?

If you are correct, then it could mean that Higgs handed the club over at below market value and trusted these guys as, to drag up an expression from the past, ''custodians''. How's that playing out do you reckon? Higgs sold to the best bid (circa £8mil). I think it's safe to assume that there wasn't a better bid. From what I understand the asset value of the Memorial Stadium is/was around £18-£20mil. My reference for that is a chap called Holmes at the other place, who seems to know about these things. So a Bank bought an asset for £10mil less than it was worth. Happy days for our banking chums. Sadly the £10mil that was gifted would appear to have been spent. (Revolving credit facility). Given that the Fruit Market is unlikely to ever bare fruit... that would appear to leave us with the following possibilities: 1. Dwane Sports continue (well that's debatable in itself, I prefer to use the word "start") to fund annual losses of £2mil+. 2. Dwane Sports slash the wage bill and operate BRFC on an even keel. I would suggest that leads us to Div 2. Not the end of the world in itself. 3. Some chap with £50mil burning a hole in his pocket comes along and buys us. 4. Dwane Sports put us into Administration. I actually think this is very unlikely, though not an impossibility. Of those - I'm with option No. 2. The future is not bright. An attendance of 6,797 would suggest that there are a dwindling number of people turning up to watch this "evolution". (And we're 5th!!!).

How else will they get back the money that Hani is keen to recover?
