Morale I think Jeffrey not moral!!!! Attacking line -up but Deon Moore not even on the bench.Big mystery how he never gets a game but has genuine potential.Tyler Smith starts but despite being on loan from a Premier Club he ain't very good.
Quite right.. Using the mobile phone so no spell checker and exposing my lifetime spelling limitations.
In the context of the night, there were a few attendances below ours. Disappointing though.
What a breath of fresh air to play with attacking tempo, strikers that make runs, balance and width, two dominating centre halves that cut out most crosses and a defence that is confident. Kilgour and Davies stopped those searching diagonal crosses that caused us so many problems last few seasons. We looked steady on defending set pieces.
Backed up by a tidy performance from Agogo, a lovely Bennett renaissance, Ollie more forward and playing links, and full backs that helped widen our attacking options.
You can say the quality of opponents wasn't as high, but Cheltenham did have their chances, came to play open football and tried to be competitive. We were just faster to the ball and made our passes count more.
Nice to see JCH back. Very raw though. Good partner for our m o m.
Tyler Smith m o m....two well taken goals and an assist. What we've been waiting for..... playing off the shoulder of last defender, fast, pacey off the mark, a handful, good finishing and always there or thereabouts. It's also nice to see a striker running on to goal. Making direct runs.
Good performance. Well done, GC good call for starting line up. A balanced, more upbeat and one touch, up tempo showing. Signs of confidence. Hmmmm...
Hard to judge tonight's win because cheltenham were poor. But a good confidence booster and most of the team performed very well including a great night for tyler smith. Still employing a narrow diamond midfield but with bennett giving the midfield a more offensive look and clarke-harris and tyler smith playing in a more traditional front two. Food for thought for coughlan as kilgour, bennett and smith all pushed their claim for a place at coventry.
Played well and no bad peformance against a pretty non descript Cheltenham Town
Tyler Smith looked useful. Alert and good anticipation in front of goals. Shouls start Saturday based on last night. The only change would i guess be Craig for Kilgour but who knows what GC has in mind

GC is wrestling with his natural inclination to make sure everything is shored up defensively and risking introducing a more attacking style. The only way the balance will change is if the players reward his courage in taking what he considers unnecessary risks. Last night was a good start, they need to make sure they keep this up.
First time for me this season and after a slow start we dominated Cheltenham who weren’t very good so we should have won by more. Thought the defence played very well and the CHs looked comfortable on the ball, esp Kilgour. I was impressed by Hare but thought he lacked confidence which grew in the second half. Leahy better going forward than defending but he does have a sweet left foot and used well it will make us a better team. Difficult to judge because the opposition were poor but our defence dealt with everything comfortably and they are all tall, strong and should get better. Bennett buzzed around but again his final ball wasn’t so good. Midfield got better as the match went on probably feeling more confident and I wish Ollie C would try more of those forward passes inside the defenders for our strikers to run onto. When he did it it worked really well and made the second. Liam S just didn’t influence the game at all, had a few nice touches but he just seems lacking at the moment. But our strikers looked good and Smith and Jonno worked really well together and given time that could be a handful for teams this season. Smith was rightly mom for his goals and setting up Jonno for his. And Tom N and Victor when they came on looked good as well. Best not to be over confident but the team, once ahead, looked so much better and played with a bit more freedom but Cheltenham were poor and we’re not going to meet many worse teams this season, but a wins a win.
Blimey, GCs cup record isn’t bad at all, after his Checkatrade run last year he’s off the mark already. And poor old DC he still can’t buy a cup win! UTG!
