Bamber, Jim said he was still looking for the person who gave him his nickname 😁
Dreadful game. The manager is even more negative than Atkins. The difference being we scored goals under Atkins. This is going to be a bloody long season.

We set up for the 0-0 and that is what we got. So you think it was a decent performance?

I don't think that is what he's saying - like him, I thought we were intent on salvaging a draw first and foremost and grabbing a win if we could. Mission accomplished I guess but what a negative benchmark to set for the season, which already promises to be a rerun of last season.

Kinda just got back.... Oh dear.
Same as last week, GC got it wrong. That's 0/2 for me and the changes were too little, too late.
On paper we started with two up front, but I'm afraid with Nichols being one of them, you know what you're getting....a one up front, and another one dithering back to goal too easily pushed off the ball and contributing nothing. Again. After two years, he gets a start ahead of the hungry Tyler and Deon. Woeful.
We started with 3/4 defensive central midfielders, the other just a central midfielder.
We started with the keeper that was at fault with the first goal, and the defence that was at fault with the second goal last week.
Yes, they're a great bunch of lads according to GC, that might be true, but GC has no plan b when his team don't get plan a right.
Going forward: No width. No pace. No-one making forwarding runs. No passing forward to our own players. No tempo in attack. No direction focus or outlet when in possession in defence. I'm afraid Ollie as Captain was poor in form, as was Agogo. I didn't like Leahy contribution, I thought he was a disaster waiting to happen but some fella on radio said he was our best player!
We were awful. Lethargic performance. No idea. No creativity. Ponderous in possession.
Having said that, Adebeyo was useful. A bit of a handful and brilliant placed shot hit the post and almost spun in.... Lovely home debut. Worked hard and tried to pick up loose ball. Too often alone though as his partner was a waste of fuc£in space.
And nice cameo from JCH too. I hope we don't thrash our hopes on one.
Fair play to Wycombe. They came for a draw at least and were unfortunate not to nick it at the end when a goalline clearance (Craig, I think?) even seemed an eternity to clear.
Why oh why when there's two athletic, tall defenders on our side, too often the ball in the air got to the fattest footballer in the world's head? Yet, the other way round, their defenders headed everything?
Akinfenwa got to everything and was even unfairly punished when we sandwiched him! (Ooooer missus!)
GC papering over cracks on radio. I'm very disappointed we don't seem to have learned anything from last season and after this calendar year of recruitment, we can't offer anything better than a forward line if no winger or width and no striker that can score.. ? I went for a massive p!ss when Nichols came on last week as knew we wouldn't score.... I'm just shy of going for a week long p!ss and boycotting away matches because I can't justify watching the same game over and over with the cost involved.... it's a similar start to last season on the back end of DC reign.
No offence to Wycombe even though I have no love for them), but they won't win the league, what the hell happens when we play a team that does have a chance of winning the league?

Did GC say we were looking for a fast pace pressing game?
What is the Irish for irony?

Did GC say we were looking for a fast pace pressing game? He heard Savage saying that about Klopp and Guardiola. Anyone can repeat something they heard on Radio Five.

Differences now we see a true GC team:
- Definitely more direct, ball played upfield faster - Trying to play with more width - Ball cleared as a priority rather than playing it out of defence - Trying to play with a faster tempo than before
I’m not saying that’s what happened, but some clear differences are emerging as to how we set up.
We lost little at the start of the match and we also have 2 first team squad players out. 3 if you could JCH. We also have a lot of new players and some time should be given to let the gel, if you excuse the buckleism.
These are the mitigating circumstances. It was a terrible games. We had a few flurries end of first half and beginning of 2nd, other than that it was a pretty ugly game, which was predicted as we were playing an ugly side.
It doesn’t look good so far. Wycombe home is a game we should be winning if we are moving forward as a club.
I’m not going to draw any conclusions yet. I like some elements of what GC is trying to create, a powerful and fast counter attacking side. This is still L1, how many times did teams piss over us with pace and power under Clarke? Part of me thinks this is what’s required in this league, with our budget.
Time will tell and GC has until Xmas to prove it.

Dreadful.
Hard to see anything other than a long old slog ahead. Nothing in midfield or upfront, tall order for JCH to repeat last seasons form.
Defensively probably ok, case of nicking enough points here and there to stay up, hopefully relatively comfortably, but probably not.

GG happy with performance and way we contained WW. He said a point, a clean sheet we would have lost that game 12 months ago and already we are in far a better position than 12 months ago!
He said we were unlucky not to win. The players are a pleasure to work with and did everything asked of them. JCH got some minutes and Little may not be as badly injured as many thought.
For me it was poor entertainment for an opening home performance just one decent shot which hit the post and a tame shot at their keeper. Two matches without a goal and little created. No width or pace whatsoever. Will not get too many fans excited to return.
ps Half time no pasties ready to sale and price of tea/coffee increased from £1.50 to £2 that's poor.

Sounds like he would take 20th place right now and, to be honest, so would I. I guess that this is the limbo we are in until something materialises with the takeover / stadium. We can't compete at the higher end of this division. Bit concerning that GC seems happy with it though. He won't last long.

My dear old dad would have said 0-0 and both sides were lucky to get to 0 After a goal-less first and second half the score at full time was 0-0. Tough conditions today, and Blackpool absolutely stormed it at Gillingham - desperately trying to eek out some positives here. We need to reserve judgement because we could still have a very good season, which would be comfortable midtable. We could have an average season, which would be survival. We could have a bad season, which would be going down. No one with any hint of objectivity is going to look at this team and genuinely think we have a chance of even troubling the playoffs. I would eat my hat, and my trousers and shoes.

Appalling performance from all concerned except Tom Davies and Josh Hare. Nichols spent another game pretending to be a footballer, Ollie Clarke couldn’t captain a tiddlywinks team Upson and Agogo headless chickens while Leahy, another piece of flotsam washed up here stank the place out. Coughlan had better hope that JCH can carry this crew to safety again,
