So who isn't going?
Despite everything said during pre-season, its the first home game, and I still get the excitement despite being pretty old now. Hopefully a crowd towards 9,000 despite holiday season, and a good performance with a 3-1 home win.

With such bad weather forecast and apparently no new incoming transfers it looks like a low attendance to me. Hope I'm wrong and let's hope the new screen is in operation despite the strong winds.

I'll be there. Always go to first home game of the season. I then work out my attendances from there finances permitting.

I and my minder 😂 will be there. It’s not just the game but seeing people you have not seen over the summer. Going to Rovers has been more about the social side, fior me, for a good few years now but I do sit nowadays. Lessons learned about standing maybe a little late. Very much looking forward to it. I see lots of outside events have been cancelled, due to the weather forecast. Music festival at Fistral, outdoor thing at Clevedon. Others I can’t remember.

Can't see akinfenwa having a problem trying to stay on his feet in Saturday's stormy weather. The **** will probably score a hat trick ! The social side is all good but the gas need lots of floating supporters to turn up. At the moment there is no reason for these types of people to come and watch the gas. Museums are having a tough time at the moment.

After the standard opening day's result let's hope for a better day today. Can't say I'm feeling too optimistic but I'll go with the heart not the head and predict a 2-0 win to the Gas. UTG

If this is to become official match thread, I hope our safety officer is standing by with regards to weather and potential scoreline for an abandonment...?
I go 0-0. Optimistic, as we have no goalscorers.
Watch David Wheeler, a target for us immediately post Bodin era.
I just hope GC picks a team and formation that can deliver 3 points......I won't hold my breath though.

I'm preparing now in the pub.
Preparing for imminent defeat. No goal scorers, no width, no manager with the will to go for it.
My mucker Father Jack has decided to sun himself in Zante rather than attend. Wise man!

Oxford have bought in the quality of Dan Agyei permanently, that sums up how we are not competing in transfer market with our relegation rivals
Thinking back to last season wasn’t it frustrating to lose so many at home and held at home by relegation rivals through inability to find that next gear up? I predict a similar start to last season, due to inability to score a lot narrow losses away and home from performances that match opponents, even top half ones. I might be wrong and Waels cheap option rovers may be worse than that but I think rest of team will be able to hold there own in most games.
They may be the cheap option, but let’s get behind them. It’s a six pointer against relegation rival, three valuable points on offer. To stay up this season will be brilliant, because there’s twin trap doors to disaster waiting for us if we do go down under these wantaway owners.
Surely we need to go two up front today and all home games? Cocko pointed to errors, but surely the biggest error was leaving a novice isolated up front last week ensuring a disjointed team performance.

Any news on pitch inspection? Yes ladies and gentlemen far and wide, this is West of England early in August. People sheltering in pubs for warmth, and a few thoughts whether the elements have forced abandonment.

Not even started playing and told we only have Cornish parties. It’s a very surreal feeling at the ground and we look absolutely void of any stacking threat. This is a very strange experience today

Utter garbage, do that every week and we'll be a L2 team before you know it, in fact, we probably are a L2 team playing in L1.
Score board working, but as always, Gorringe has got it wrong. It has no border, so you can't see it against the sky. He's about the same standard as the rest of the club at present, poor.
Low first home game crowd. Looks like people have lost interest, and who can blame them?
Edit.
Nice to see Big Jim Eadie again. Top keeper. Couldn't understand a word he said, but great memories of him at Eastville.
