2,1 miles v 2.6 miles, its not
going from robertson road junction , so using black swan or the pub on the corner i forget the name opposite the monte carlo
Now come on mate you should know better than to give facts out on a 'Rovers new stadium' thread. The pub that you're thinking of was the White Swan,a proper sh1tp1t and not what anyone (sane) would regard as a spiritual home,I think that when it shut as a pub it became the Unigate club ? and after that a hostel for homeless people. These threads are pure comedy gold, that belter wale talks out of his blow hole and people on here start looking at Google maps and images, getting information on buses and trains, deciding if the latest site is North of the river, will it hold 20,25,30,000,which pubs to drink in etc etc....ffs in August 2017 he announced to 20man that the Memorial ground was being rebuilt as it was a 'beautiful piece of land' !!!! oh well he got waq shaq erected so that all came true.... Well, ok so some get enthusiastic. What do you bring? There’s a whole air of impotent old man about some of these posts

"It’s a billion times better than UWE." Why? Unless you live near the Fruit Market I can't see how it's a better site as unless you use public transport to get to the Mem already then it's a pain of a site to get to by car. Plus it's hardly within walking distance of our present catchment area so most fans will have to travel by train/bus/car to get to the ground. The UWE has to share facilities with the university. I don’t want a load of twats moaning about Jacob Rees mogg and abolishing poverty anywhere near my bevloved team! North Bristol, that part by abbey wood, is a horrible soulless place. It’s wide open spaces with no character. There’s literally nothing there. All post war built stuff other than Frenchay. I find it utterly depressing. At least at the fruit market there are some solid Victorian and 30s estates which have a bit of history and aren’t just purpose built retail and office units. Plus, the traffic there is possibly the worst place in Bristol. I’ve spent most of my life commuting to north Bristol to see the rovers, it’s no problem. The mem is better than UWE. I’d take either, but I never wanted the UWE. It reeks of desperation to go in with a uni. But we've no idea how this stadium is going to be funded? Someone will want pay back on the £50m build costs, assuming it's ever built.

How do you know what an 'air of impotent' is like ? your own personal experience ? I wasn't surprised when you said that you're from Brislington, Callington road probably from your posts.

I would expect you go to points you disagree with and explain why people are wrong.

I reserve the right to steam into and use childish insults towards every/anybody.

Are we not all jumping the gun..We still need to sort naming rights and which club will officially open our new stadium. Will need to get the local residents on board ..the Bristol Uni students coming to the area. Special football trains need to be sourced for matchdays and a helicopter pad for the owner.

Well, sometime I think it’s hard and then I realised it’s just rigor mortis. People generally don’t like folks laughing at them, you knew you were mocking others on this thread, so expect a bit back when you do.

You don’t refute the Sun’s comic strip with passages from Solzhenitsyn

Does it? I sadly think it proves that a half arsed offer was made so that Wael could inform supporters that "something" was happening. Might calm the disquiet for a while. Or not.

Anyone have the link to the full interview? The last sentence actually gives me a bit of hope! It's on the BBC R Bristol website for yesterdays pre-match 20man show, Weal's interview starts at around 10/15 mins, but he doesn't give a lot away investment wise, although the suggestions on the other forum are it's a consortium but Wael & MS are staying on. Damn. I wanted to hear it again and it's gone! - unless I'm being dumb (a distinct possibility). Now up to 31 pages at the 'other place'. Perhaps it's been discussed in far more detail there than it has been at Board level. And no mention of anything on the official site. We are potentially moving in to a purpose built stadium for the first time since we moved to Eastville in 1897, and not a word on the subject. How odd. Excuse my (admittedly predictable) scepticism.
