Put a retractable roof on it and … hey presto! you have the arena the council wanted, just a couple of hundred yards from the original plan.
Would be walking distance for me.

In as much as I’ve researched the area and other places close to it, I have been told it is considered prime real estate and the cost for land would be big. I am only passing on what I have been told, by someone who is in the business of purchasing sites. Personally, I know we need to move to progress but it’s not in a great place. In anycase, I stand by what I previously said. I would believe it when we are playing in it. Unless we had outside investment, it sounds an expensive place to buy

The new university campus has increased the land values on St Phillips Marsh, with a whole raft of planning applications in the works. Time will tell.

If you are driving to a match at fruit market stadium where are you going to park?
It’s chaff. To distract from the manager had no money to spend and the team look like relegation fodder.

Site will be used for houses/flats/apartments. It's all BCC is interested in.

Ok. I am going to humour this one.
Let's pretend that we have the cash to build this one and assume that planning permission is granted (the former I am very doubtful of).
Positives:
1. We can play at the Mem whilst it is being built and move in once it is done. Simple! 2. The Mem can be sold for housing to help fund the project. 3. There are excellent public transport links (Temple Meads, Bus service). 4. It is the right side of the River Avon (only bloody just!). 5. Having a central Bristol stadium would raise the profile of the club. 6. I'm sure a park and ride system could be set up. 7. People can park in the car parks around the centre (a long walk I know). 8. It is not a residential area. 9. The site is big enough.
I am not going to list the negatives.
I would be very surprised if this one goes ahead, and this scheme does not get me excited at this early stage. Maybe I have been through one too many stadium schemes...
As always, I hope the new stadium happens (wherever it is), and I hope it can take the club to Championship level and above.
Personally I would prefer North Bristol, but a new stadium bang in the centre would certainly make a statement!
