So we hear that another transfer target is dead in the water and that is where the reality strikes home about where we are in the Football pyramid. A relegation out of the Football League is the worst relegation of all because so many players don't want Conference showing on their CVs. It is with this in mind that I am quite impressed with how DC has gone about his work and IMO has brought in some good players but also managed to hang on to important players from last year. Just hope now that we can add three more players this week and not lose anyone at this late stage. IMO if we had got in some of the players we now have in January or even at the transfer deadline last season we would have stayed up easily. It is a shame that we have missed out on a fair few of DCs original targets because based on what he has signed I would have thought they would have given us an excellent squad.

Translating what has happened over the last few weeks into last season is fruitless. As for the aquad, I dont know. A bit unhappy that we are still chasing players four days before the season starts, but there you go. Will be at Barnet next Tuesday where the reality will be apparent.

Unfortunately, we are not the big attraction Clarke thinks we are, or may be it is he who is unable to convince players they should sign ?; what is for sure all the best players would now be signed up by other clubs, yet Clarle is running around trying to sign players from ********* shortwood. From what I can see, BRFC still can not score enough goals or defend set pieces. Just hope we can get at least four points from the Grimsby and Barnet, show time !

To be fair to Clarke you are only as "big" as the division you are in and to be honest what type of player do you think we are going to get when we are generally putting a one year contract on the table? How many Managers in the past would have needed to "see" if we could afford to pay part of a loan players wages? As regards goalscoring how do anybody know that we will have a problem scoring goals? We have hardly played the team that will take to the field this saturday, have mainly played trialists and in all honesty played mainly teams of a higher level than we now are. If we are truthful we have only really had "good" pre season results on rare occasions and we all know that you can't base next saturday on pre seasons fixtures. I personally feel that compared to last season we are now in a much stronger position. Ok we have lost Smith but have Leadbitter who; whilst not the quality of Smith now; is as good as, if not better than the Smith who Buckle signed three years ago. Lockyer will continue to improve and Monkhouse overall will play a bigger part than say Clarkson.Sinclair whilst not scoring the goals OToole scored will not have an "attitude from hell" and will give everything, every game as will Maskell. White and Taylor will almost certainly provide more than Harrold and Brunt if he improves his match fitness will be like a new player. I havent seen enough of Gosling to give an opinion but if we can sign another striker, a winger and Turley then I can see us having a team that will be good enough to challenge to go straight back up.
