The Copa Libertadores (South American Champions League) Final First Leg is on Saturday night at 8pm. For the first time in its history the final will be a Superclásico between Boca Juniors and River Plate. It's only the third time a Continental Club Final has been between two clubs from the same city (Athletico and Real Madrid went head to head in the 2014 & 16 CL Finals) and is sure to be a fantastic atmosphere and hopefully a fiery match with (fingers crossed) plenty of scenes "no one wants to see".
Anyway, the good news for people without Sky you can watch the match on Free Sport on Freeview Channel 95 or stream it online. The second leg takes place on the 24th of November at 8pm and will again be on Free Sport.

Waterlogged pitch. It’s been put back 23 hours. Genuinely ruined my Saturday night.

What a good shout this was Chewie! Add to the fact that I now only need 3 more corners to win some money as well and I'm very happy with my Sunday evening viewing

Cracking game, bouncing atmosphere and I thought the referee did well too.
I've always had a soft spot for River Plate, so was glad to see them get the draw, away from home.
Both sides had good chances and it was an extremely entertaining game.
Looking forward to the second leg now!

Ref was superb. Both teams could have had about three players sent off if we’re playing Premier League Laws but he absolutely kept a lid of things. An enthralling game that did fall away a tad second half. Boca could have nicked it at the end. Really need to start watching more Superliga, I love how chopsy it is.

Yes- there was something fun and old fashioned about that game with everything meaning far more than it should do and everyone being completely unapologetic about that. 'Competitive' might be the word.

Having been to a Boca v River game I compared Boca to Rovers and River to the team formed in 82. River the spoilt rich kids. Was the season River went down. Boca, also in danger of relegation, won three nil. Atmosphere from home team was amazing. The football on display very poor. River went on to play a relegation play off, on direction from a senior official some of their mob got to the ref at half time saying we have to have a pen or they will find his family. They were awarded a pen in second half, they missed. Relegated. There were riots in the ground, outside the ground and in the city all that night. Can't imagine why I think of 82!

The odd thing about River’s relegation, isn’t relegation in Argentina almost done over a 3 year period?!

May have been introduced after that season to protect the big clubs in the event of one bad season. I vaguely remember one of the locals trying to explain it to me, but have put it in the same place as my understanding of the new Nations Cup thingy.
