With the next four games away after tonight, the AFC Wimbledon match at the Mem is surely a must win?
Not just for much needed 3points, but also because it's a 6pointer. And also for morale, we have a few tough fixtures coming up before our return to Mem in middle of next month v Scunny.
For me, we need a two up front, I would strongly suggest Payne as we see Ardley sets out his physical stall. Payne & Reilly/Jak with at least one naturally wide player..
Keep the same back 5 as Saturday.
That's what I see as a best chance of getting a result, so: Gas 2-0 Nervy performance before Sercombe and Bennett turn on the Gas 7778.
Who the hell knows though?!
COME ON YOU BLUES! UptheGas..

Lines is a must at home with his pacy runs through the middle. We need to get it forward quicker and create more chances for the forwards, or they start going back and wide looking for the ball and crowding up midfield. It's time to stop worrying about the opposition and take the game to them instead.

He has little pace and drives to the corner flag like a pro golfer. Play him as a holding CDM in a 4-3-3, keep the pace on the flanks to deliver balls to target Payne. Job's a goodun.

The squad we have we really have to start playing 4-3-3 or 5-3-2, it really makes no sense playing 4 across the midfield.

Rovers have not scored for 517 minutes. The last was scored after 23 mins on 22 September by Ollie Clarke in the 3-1 home win over Coventry City. The club record without scoring a league goal is 576 minutes (Jan-Feb 2001), followed by 560 minutes (Oct to Nov 1922).
When Rovers Mickey Evans scored after 87 minutes of the game against Plymouth Argyle on 9th January 2001, no one would have expected the side would go through 576 minutes of League action without scoring. Rovers’ next goal was scored by the Latvian Vitalijs Astafjevs after 33 minutes of the home game against Cambridge United on 24th February 2001.
This tally of 576 minutes eclipsed the previous worst run of 560 minutes between Sam Furniss’ 75th-minute strike against Southend United on 7th October 1922 and Tom Howarth’s fifth-minute goal against Charlton Athletic on 25th November 1922.
This means if Rovers fail to score by the 60th minute against AFC Wimbledon tonight they will have set a new Club Record.

The squad we have we really have to start playing 4-3-3 or 5-3-2, it really makes no sense playing 4 across the midfield. I wouldn’t mind the 4 2 3 1 we played second half on Sat, it made a huge difference to the playing people out of position that resulted in the first half display. I would go with Payne up top, Nichols Mathews and Bennet interchanging as the three behind him, olli and sercs as the two. To defend the manager he sees more of the players in training as well as all the games so should have a better feel than us who to play and where to, also he keeps injuries close to his chest, so what might look odd decision to us is us not knowing player isn’t 100%, had a difficult week training with illness or family matters. He might be tempted to slip Martin in for the extra height? Anyone else think Martin looks like his dad? Was it pompey who boasted after beating us they knew they would because we are too small they knew they would out muscle us? Well the truth is we are quite small, with the players who left in summer we do lack a bit of muscle. But the further truth is we outplayed Portsmouth and the 2.1 flattered them. So we shouldn’t fear the wombles, just fear getting to 60th minute without a goal as that’s horrible record for this team and manager to own. Hell of a blood red sunset over horfield as I write.

So we start with NO strikers!
And practically every small bloke we can find.
I hope you know what you're doing Mr Clarke as this looks like one monumental f up of a starting lineup..

Not a lot of height. Not a lot of physicality. Not a lot of goals of late. Hope I'm wrong (obviously) , but going for Gas 0 Wombles 1. (Late headed winner).
