I think it will be a club record of time without a goal on Tuesday so let’s all go and see a bit of club history being made. We can all applaud the team and, coaching staff and the owners for their great achievement.

We can all applaud the team and, coaching staff and the owners for their great achievement. Special mention to Nichols, air shot from 6 yards, right in front of goal after 5 minutes. Second half, corner of 6 yard box, all he has to do is roll the ball into either corner, he bobbles it wide of the far post. The bloke is a complete joke.

Baffling team selection with four central midfield players and a dire 1st half. The introduction of matthews and bennett changed the game and we played much better in the 2nd half and should really have nicked a win. Tom nichols worked hard and played well in the 2nd half which hasnt always been the case but of course he didnt score again.

Bennett changed the game. I think he should be more of a Luka Modric central playmaker, rather than a winger
Matthews seemed to have butter on his boots
Sercs dropped back with Upson 2nd half, and got into the game well. Started to pick passes
Ken Dodd front line of Nicholls, Sercs, Bennett 2nd half. Won a surprising amount of headers though - more than in the 1st half
Nicholls completely luckless in front of goal. I know he makes his own luck, but still couldn't help but feel for him today, and not for the first time. DC says he doesn't 'hide', and I think that's true
Payne cameo was off the slow end-of-game pace I thought

Dr Who was a man last time we scored. First half was like watching a flea circus, WHERE ARE THEY? The change of formation and keeping possession rather than lumping into channels suited us much better, flummoxed utd for a time.
Tougher on Tuesday as we are so small Wombles will bully us.
So much not right at the moment. Morphing through different team selections. No continuity for the players. Not bothering with width. It don’t seem right having a Dr Who thats eminently snoggable, either.

A point gained Oxford were good in the first half and defended superbly in the second d. Bonham saved us again and man of the match. Super sunny day and pitch was quality. Bring on the Wombles DC will get it right and start Bennett and Lines on Tuesday. Just as well Plymouth lost.

Care to comment on Sercs Parts Sincs Think they were on the pitch today.

Back now.
Another huff and puff match. No creativity in first half, a bit more in second half but no cutting edge.
We are poor. Our tempo is so slow, it makes it easy for teams to defend.
When you need a goal, a goal from anywhere or anything, you take off the guy who's scored this month and leave on the guy whom hasn't scored in nearly a calendar year! Obviously. And even though I admire Nichols hard work, he still hasn't scored this season, looks like he never will.
I blame DC for tactics and subs.
I'm sorry for that but it's frustrating watching the throes of a dying team with plenty of spirit, heart and work ethic, but little or no footballing quality.
You can factor in their number10 gamesmanship, a bit of go down under a challenge and all of a sudden it's a free kick, but ultimately I saw us struggling to break down a poor side with ease.
Bennett was a joy to watch. So was Stu Sinclair (for me, m o m) blocking everything. Bonham was his hugely reliable and confident self.
But.....no width at home, playing one up front (again) at home and a ref sometimes fussy left me thinking jeeez I would take this league position now!
Hard times. Harder times to come. Hold fast.

Well at least we didn’t lose............ Don’t fancy going Tuesday. Who does when you are going to see near enough the same thing. What I don’t get is why is DC not using Matthews to start as he seems to have some will to win. I didn’t go yesterday as I was very ill but it sounds like I saved myself a few quid and the depression that comes with games like these eppinggas your match report was prescient. If you and others can see it then why is no one picking up on this ? Lord knows how our manager is still in a job given the way he has thrown pelters at the owners. Maybe they can’t afford to pay up his contract ?

After 4 years of being very strong at home we shouldnt be throwing in the towel after a bad quarter of a season should we?

Aye aye sir. Hatches battened down. I don’t like to say it either but DC is the epitome of the word madness. Doing everything the same but expecting a different result. I know we are no Man U but Fergie was one match from being sacked. I hope, for his sake alone, that the players show the fight we have had the pleasure of watching, under DC..I don’t want him sacked but there is a staleness in the players and I can’t look elsewhere. If DC started to motivate the players & get them to play like his previous teams instead of blaming others then maybe we can see a push up the table but he will need to get his players to adopt a siege mentality, like we had at Twerton. Right now all I am holding onto is that there are a few teams that are as bad, if not worse than us. This, very much, has the look of the side that took us out of the league. Yes, I missed yesterday but I can read that it was another toothless display. I fear relegation would cost us much more than league position.

There was more action outside the Tinto Lounge than there was in the first half!

I will be there on Tuesday and I will of course support the team but it is not just one bad quarter, you look at our record over the last 28 league games - 23 points. That is relegation form. So well over half a season of poor form and now 5 games without a goal. That is not acceptable by anyone’s standards, apart from you it seems?

Come on, be positive, clap and cheer as crosses sail over the crossbar, Nichols falls over and 5 yard passes go straight out of play.

As someone else mentioned, even the pre match pints are not flowing so well as we fail to find the net again. I can cope with score draws but 0-0 games are just not entertaining, not for me anyway. Where are the never say die players that we used to have ? We just seem to have lost any momentum that we really should have built upon, after two promotion seasons. BTW I am of the opinion that those promotion sides had NH’s stamp on them but many of us got taken in by the new owners or, this made I laugh, the fake sheiks ( from a Facebook messenger group). We had a very real chance of going further but didn’t invest. That upset me more than anything right now. Imagine how 5h1t scared Lansdown was, that he bought our top scoring player for fear of us making the championship. As Greavsie would say, it’s a funny old game

As Greavsie would say, it’s a funny old game Those promotions were built on a half decent League standard defence playing part time teams (but the team still not being better than Barnet that year), getting over the line at Wembley because someone else made a mistake, and carrying that momentum and belief into the following season. Higgs had no idea what was going on, he somehow couldn't get Bristol Rovers to finish 90th out of 92 League teams, and it wasn't one fluke season, it was a slow car crash that we all saw coming, he gets credit for nothing positive whatsoever.
