Grasping at straws - maybe Nichols could play as an attacking mid??? He has a great first touch. Sadly he can't score any f******g goals. Scoring goals doesn't matter, apparently. I'm led to believe you get bonus for taking part and trying hard so we should be fine just so long as we keep playing him up front. Well, this is the thing, maybe you need to be objective and only criticise when it's deserved. Nichols was a disgrace today, absolute disgrace. Twice in the first 10 mins he was stood stationary waiting for a ball to arrive, Southend player just walked around him and took possession, he didn't make an effort to win the ball back, then he needed Ollie Clarke to be shouting at him telling him not to stand watching but to do his job and mark opposition players when they had the ball. I'm not sure I've ever seen any player in a Rovers' shirt put in such a half hearted effort, ever, and I've seen David Hillier! It was worse than anything we saw from Tom last season. I'm seriously disappointed, I thought he had moved on from this stuff The manager can't play him again after that showing, his career here must be over.

Can't defend can't score it's not looking great at the moment but we did have one shot on target ! Remember taking the piss out of the s**t last season for having 0 shots on target at home perhaps that's still to come.

A dire start to the season. the results have been dire, and today was apparently dire, but some reasons to be hopeful I think - a good squad roster, and some hints of potential I honestly cannot for the life of me see any hopefull sign. We have a defence who are completely disorganised and couldnt Mark homework A midfield who can't pass or create anything And strikers who wouldn't be out of place in a wet box of swan vestas And a manager who seems lost as to what to do next. I can see a long nail biting season ahead for us gasheads and fear for our league status

It stands to reason that no team can carry two players who don't score. At least Payne/Heskey/Savage as the non scoring striker makes sense as they are big guys who can link the play and bring the team into the game. Who ever heard of a non-scoring forward of diminutive stature?! They are the ones who usually put no effort in but get the ball in the net. Nichols is great at the lack of effort but also brings no goals. There simply is not room in the team. In all honesty, when you think of Martin Cameron and Mickey Evans etc Nichols still betters them as the worst signing in Rovers history. 350k, 1 league goal. That is quite some feat he has achieved.

Last time Rovers lost their opening three home league matches was way back in Season 1961/62. Liverpool 0-2, Bury 0-1 and Sunderland 2-3. At the end of the season we were relegated.

Predictive text missed out the word one But 4 wins in 20 league games should worry everyone

Being an eternal optimist, Tuesday filled me with hope. Today was completely abject. It will get better.

He looked like he was trying in the last couple of games, based on that it's not unreasonable to give him an opportunity to turn things around, today was nothing short of waving two fingers in the air at his employers, the manager who has backed him and us supporters who fund the bulk of his wages. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it from a Rovers' player before, he simply wasn't interested. He's not the reason we lost, we were shocking in every position and got what we deserved, so I'm not blaming it all on him, but he's done here, surely.

Man of the match, and deserves his place for the next 40 odd matches just so everyone can give him more time and not judge last season.. 😁 He was unlucky with the volley into the bar, sercombe was brilliant in that move, but as for rest....meh!

No, he wasn't unlucky, the goal is 24 feet wide and 8 feet tall, he was inside of the penalty area, the defence was carved open by Sercombe, all he had to do was side-foot the ball into the net, he hit the bar. I liked the groan when the rubbish new bloke with the microphone, who seems to be a fan of very tight trousers, had to announce a 'Man of the Match'. Oh dear. I would have given it to Nichols, just for a laugh. How come their keeper can get booked in both halves and not get sent off, or was the ref just showing him the card in the first half so that he could see what a nice shade of yellow it was? All very odd. It wasn't just me, our players thought he was already booked as well. These officials are funny.

While it looked that it may have been keeper, may have been a player on left side for verbal. Must admit not clear at all, there again not much clear in his performance. Have to wonder if we should fall over more. Thought Payne pulled out for his booking. Ref then ignored at least 4 occasions when they fell to floor trying to win free kick, would have thought this was a firm of diving as should have been booked.
Anyway these are excuses for a had performance, see what happens next

Soon. It's August. You carry on with your perspective, I'll carry on with mine. Tuesday is irrelevant (QPR). So how about the statistics that say 4 wins in the last 20 league games how does your perspective stack up against that Fine thanks. I'm only concerned with this season and there's enough to think it'll be fine, today aside. You don't like the current owners or Darrell. That's plain. Your prerogative. Enjoy your bitterness. I'll enjoy my night in with my beautiful wife watching a film or two. UTG.
