Did anyone catch it?
Fair play to 20man he didn't go easy on him.
Mostly waffle and nothing of substance as usual - can't say anything about anything due to confidentially.
Frustrated but training ground will happen.
Several options, redeveloping the Mem is one.
Most revealing "As far as he knows" Hani and the family are still on board.
Can anyone spin some positives out of that car crash?

You can count on me for positivity Pess !
Superb interview in terms of helping Darrell Clarke obtain a playing budget competitive enough for Rovers to compete at the top end of the league.
Wael said that as 92% shareholders Dwane Sports would not put extra cash in as equity or a donation because he thought the owners of the other 8% would be unable to contribute.
How do the other minority shareholders feel about raising £80 000 to trigger a matching £920 000 from Dwane Sports ?

looking forward to hearing the interview later, but reading between the lines it seems to me that the investment being put in is a very sensible attempt to increase the turnover. Refurbished bars, new (admittedly temporary) stands, proper (with all due respect to the lottery winners) sponsors. A pessimist might argue that they have cocked some of this up. An optimist might suggest they just piss away millions to buy the league. I would rather they built a decent stand with loan money that gave us the capacity and facilities to actually make some money and make the club sustainable.

Is it really the case though that he can't give us even the vaguest notion of the direction they are going in? "We are exploring all viable opportunities" is literally just hot air. It was disappointing that he didn't even seem to be trying to drop some hints to appease supporters so we can get an idea that something is actually happening, rather he spent the time trying to squirm around semantics and retreating to his mantra about viable opportunities. It really did seem like he has nothing to say because nothing is going on and he has the benefit of using nebulous 'legal contracts' to obfuscate things and drag this charade out til the bitter end.

Sounded very far from convincing when asked if the family are still on board with this - he's given up even pretending now. Ultimately they can make improvements to the bars etc. but we are never going to be "sustainable" at the Mem as it is any they will continue losing a lot of money year after year. Ultimately, whatever happens this season, retaining our league 1 status is going to be a constant struggle as we don't have the infrastructure to compete. I'm really not sure where we go from here. Nowhere slowly by the looks of it. Unfortunately it appears they got into something they didn't understand.

More of the same sort of guff from the owner,I cant work out whether he is an attention seeking Walter Mitty type fantasist or if he is some how playing for time (for what reason I don't know).
Where I disagree with you is about Twentyman,I don't think that he is hard enough in fact he apologised twice for asking the questions ! anyway even someone like Humphries or Paxman wouldn't get a straight answer from Soapy.
I really wonder what the future will bring.

If you want to know what type of interview this was, please Google the famous Paxman / Michael Howard interview from years ago.
The irresistible force against the immovable object in the form of all valid options that can not be disclosed.
Wael understands that we need a radical solution ref ground. Thank God for that.
My take on this hasn't changed. Wael is committed to this, but Dwayne Sports are now saying that he is on his own. Hani has bought his son a train-set but will not fund his trains getting onto the rail network. The result is evolution. Some new carriages and the odd shunter for the goods yard.
I hope that all viable options include looking at outside investment to move us forward. Otherwise, our supporters will be like the Railway Children hoping for our new Stadium to appear out of Wael's steam.

Where's the interview hidden on Radio Bristol? Looked everywhere.

Just listened to the interview again.
Please note that the number of references to I, rather than we.
"I am the driver"
"I am committed"
The key is whether DS will allow Wael to see the outside investment to allow a viable option to get off the ground.
This is starting to resemble a personal tragedy. Wael hamstrung in his dream position by family's lack of passion for what should have been a shared goal. Wael is saying that they are supportive, but our fan-base recognise that this is not the case.
In effect Wael needs to find backing from elsewhere as he can not keep playing the legal disclosure card.
I have no sympathy with argument that they have only been here for 5 mins. It is 2.5 years to be precise.

For me the key point was near the start of the interview when Wael said "I can assure you that we all know what we want and it's just about getting there". You can read this several ways...do the owner want to sell, do they have a site lined up for a new stadium (Filton if no arena there maybe?), are they looking for investment... I intereputed from the interview that the preferred option is to build a new stadium elsewhere and that with the lack of investment from the family, Wael is looking for investment from elsewhere. I still believe Wael is an honest guy and he wants to stay around

Time to write to Steve Hamer again? Maybe try Martyn Starnes this time Exactly, there are so many Chiefs one wouldn't know where to start when writing a letter of complaint... No need to worry about buying match tickets or electronic turnstiles (which turned out to be the same turnstiles but with little mobile gadgets on the counter) Put on a cheap suit, whack a load of gel in your hair, march up to the gate, tell them you are the new Investment development and research analyst, here to see the Direct debit and membership and professional development stock and credit administrator and nobody would bat an eyelid.
